I have a spin gym and been using it for a couple years with good results when I am consistant with it. I have had to replace the cord several time. Some of the cords are a bit longer than others, and I have noticed that when the cord is too long it is harder to get and stay spinning, so I shorten it up a bit and it works much better. When you watch the video with Forbes, her cord is pretty short and it goes just fine. So, to those of you who are having trouble getting it to stay spinning for you, maybe try shortening up the cord and see if that helps. Good luck! It really does work!!
