Whyare Robin and Brenda wearing boxing gloves while riding this?
Oh! I see…they’re weighted gloves! LOL! Sorry.
Lol ankle weights I can see the purpose, but weighted gloves? hmmmmm lol
Why do they KEEP on saying…"This machine mimicks the natural motion of the hip."
Is there a machine that doesn’t?
I’m waiting for the "Thigh Master" to come back.
well..yes..weighted gloves if you choose to do any arm movements while using.
I have BDy’s Air Climber which I am using more than usual here in MA., and I have had it for years and love it.
But this new machine will give me a different range of motion so I ordered it.
I really want an eliptical but after reading Reviews of many here, Amazon, etc., most of the reasonably priced ones are hard to assemble and are not too sturdy….
Please post here if you have used this strider!

What is this about
Wonder007, I believe the warning is there to comply with California’s Prop 65 laws. There is another thread in the Health/Fitness forum which details Prop 65.
I agree with Sharon818’s statements. I would like to add – I have the Tony Little Gazelle and that machine is great – the motion with the legs is back and forth and engages the arms – similar like a skier type of machine.
However with the SlimStrider it also engages the hip abductor muscles. I have torn the IT band on my right hip so many times and had so much rehab that I had given up – trying to do the PT exercises places too much stress and stain on my hip and I was not steady enough. I also have some arthritis. I was going to a chiropractor to help adjust the hip so that I could try to walk for exercise. Prior to that I would take about 10 steps and feel like my hip slipped and was in a lot of pain.
When I first got the SlimStrider I couldn’t do any of the abductor exercises. I also have problems with with wrists and right shoulder – have rheumatoid. So I began doing some circulars with each leg independently. Did not hurt me like it did when I tried to do similar exercises on the floor. I kept trying and set a goal of a couple of abductor exercises, then more and more – before I knew it I could do several abductor sets and even hold them – something that would put me in lots of pain. To make a long story short – this product has been the best product I have used to rehab and old injury that I thought I was stuck with for life. Everyone is different – I happen to have rheumatoid arthritis and have flares now and then.
What I like about this product is that it doesn’t seem to put stress on my joints and tendons. For me it is far better to be active than to be sedientary/sitting on a couch.
This is the best $200+ I have spent on exercise equipment – it has produced noticeable improvement on my hip flexors. Now if I could figure out exercise that wouldn’t hurt my wrists and shoulders….a day at a time 🙂
I have problems with my hands/wrists due to tendinitis/rheumatoid so holding hand weights will end up bringing on a flareup – so I opted to purchase weighted hand gloves off Amazon, much cheaper – I really like them – they are Black and Teal/Empower and fit my small hands as well as my husbands huge hands – though 1 lb weights are too light for him. I think I paid $14.99. I wish I could use hand weights or soup cans, but would place too much strain on my wrists and hands…
I also felt heck with walking outside with these weighted gloves they could help deliver a whack if someone tried some funny business… 😉 what a sight that would be a 56 y.o. grandma!
