Marine Collagen TSV – source? calcium?
I have read that collagen sourced from shell fish and shark cartilage contains calcium and taking it can result in too much calcium in the body. This can cause a whole host of side effects. Also, I take a prescription that shouldn’t be taken with calcium. What is the source? How much calcium does this contain?
I was concerned about this also as I have a shellfish allergy. Thanks for sharing the information!
After I posted this question I called Procaps and received a call back a bit ago. She said that the Marine Collagen is not sourced from shellfish or shark cartilage (actually from tilapia) and does not contain calcium.
Thanks to Procaps for the swift reply and also to DISGO for the post.
I am concerned about what you stated in your post… I take the suggested amount of Calcium daily.. Also about the shell fish and shark cartilage
Funny as I was posting.. Received a call back from AL Company… Did address these concerns… Was told no shell fish or Shark Cartilage in the product…. So if that was your main concern it’s safe to take..
I did ask more of a medical question which I am concerned… I have (Irregular heart beat…
Do take a heart med, and also a blood thinner which is named Eloquis) 20 mg twice a day..
Make sure my supplements are spaced at least 2hrs to taking any meds..
He could not advice me with that…
I did order this morning the 90 day supply of marine collagen…
Am hoping to get a reply regarding my issue.
Oh also did read some reviews about how to use it? Not sure how it dissolves best? Hot or cold beverages? I like to make smoothies with Protein powder, I then add some chocolate Almond milk, and unflavored almond milk… Add some fresh berries and use a smoothie blender. Read different ways people do use the Marine Collagen… Please reply with how you use it?
