Marine Collagen Peptides and mercury
Since this type of collagen is derived from fish, I wonder if it contains any mercury. Does anyone have any iformation in this area? I talked to someone in procapslabs, but I didn’t get a straightforward answer about this particular product. They just said that Andrew in general is vey careful about contamination. I know that he uses some kind effective filtering for the Omega 3, and he has said before that his Omega 3 is free of mercury and other contaminants, but I havn’t heard him say anything about the Marine Collagen Peptides being the same. Knowing his high standards, I’m assuming he is removing all the mercury from the fish before it ends up into the Marine Collagen Peptides, but it would be nice to get a reassurance from him that he is fact doing so. Has anyone else heard him say it is mercury free? Andrew can you address this please? Thank you! 🙂
Wish Andrew could eliminate the taste and gelatinous feel I got when trying to swallow it…it was fishy tasting.
Perhaps he could eliminate the fishy part like he did with another of his products and make it in pill form…then I could get it down.
I had to return mine because of these things plus the fact that I could not find a way to make it fully dissolve so it wasn’t a gelatinous glob to try to get down…which I just couldn’t stomach.
Sorry Andrew…I so wanted to try it.
Thank you Andrew! He (Andrew) just answered my question live on air. So there’s no mercury or any other contaminant in this product! Yay! I’m going to order another one. 🙂 Doing a happy dance!
you could also try asking him on his blog here on hsn
If you look carefully at the label it is derived from tilapia fish which is in not a fish that is high in mercury if any.
