Who else is sick of HSN not having the quality & Petite sizing like QVC?

  • angie0215

I am so sick of HSN being not inclusive like QVC. QVC all their designers go out of their way to make quality clothing and have everything in petites.
HSN it is a token petite here & there and never in tops and blazer or jackets. Maybe DG2 but I said quality and a lot of DG2 is not quality to me anyway.

You need to remember that HSN is now owned by the original people. The same people who also started QVC. The same people who drove HSN to almost go belly up. QVC is still the darling as HSN sadly becoming more of a basement store. Very disappointing after seeing what was.

Same people? The man that started QVC..is deceased now. he was our client..and I was Friends with niece.

Rob Muller is the CEO of HSN since 2022 & QVC only owns 30% of HSN

Hi Oodiebom, I think QVC owns 30% of HSN. I agree QVC & HSN r like night & day.
HSN has become the bargain basement & QVC gets all the quality merchandise and brands.
I do blame HSN for that because the Q only owns 30% so the President of HSN isn’t doing his job he is settling for less & just enough to get buy.
It always starts at the top and they have poor management.
I feel that they sell stuff that no one else wants and they get it for peanuts and sell it to us.
I have found a lot of the junk they sell elsewhere for less money.
It really has gone downhill, and it is a shame they need to put a fire under their head management that runs the show.

Angie, I am thinking you are much younger than me in my 70’s. True petite clothing came to be in the 40’s’ Gary from Denim & co knows as he once mentioned that the clothes are not really petite, but short. Honest. But he never said it again.
If you really have found petite do please let me know. I cannot find anything but short!! Petite denotes many areas of the garment are smaller or shorter. Shoulders, rise on pants, armholes, & my pet peeve-doggone sleeves. Average sleeves are 30-31 inches. Petite 27. I refuse to purchase as I must roll up long sleeves way too much & its bulky & tacky looking.. I purchase button front long sleeve shirts only from petite specialty shops to have a good fit/look.
Years ago, on here, I attempted to get all petite women to call customer service & request petite clothing.
Of course it is all about the money so designers are feeding us “petite” that are really just short apparel. I miss the days when I could dress well with great fitting clothes. Still wear 3 forty yr old leather jackets/coats, that fit like they were made for me, ie shoulders, sleeves. It is worth it to me to have them professionally cleaned/conditioned yearly, as I refuse to walk around looking like a little girl in her moms clothes. I suggest u go online & purchase a couple genuine petite garments, as I think u will be hooked on properly fitted attire. Check/compare sizing to be certain it is genuine petite & not new term petite meaning just short.

      Hi Sherryrose,
I am 66 so we are the same generation. I do purchase true petite sizing from Anthropologie also Reformation sells true petite sizing.
Also, Ann Taylor, Macys has a petite section which is a little less expensive than Anthropologie & Reformation.
Banana Republic has petites, but I do not shop there as much as I use to many years ago. I worked part time at one of their stores many years ago and they had a huge petite section, but the store is still there & it is 1/2 the size with no petites.
They do have petites online still but not as big of a selection.
Susan Grave on QVC sells petites and other designers do also. When Susan & a couple of other designers on the Q not all make petite tops, blazers or jackets they make them in true petite sizing. It is just not shorter in length it is supposed to be shorter in the arms, torso and fit for a true petite woman.
I just find that HSN has poor quality clothing in general and when I do see something I like it is never in petites. I also find it very insulting when they try & tell you it would work for a petite woman. It’s like if I said to an average or tall woman here put on my petite pants it will work so what if it is very short in the leg it’s the style sometime.
It is condescending & taking your customers for granted. It is also not being inclusive! HSN has always been way behind QVC in everything that they do but I doubt they will ever catch up when it comes to actually listening to the customer & being all inclusive.
My mom & grandmom were both seamstresses and could make clothes of course using a pattern, but they were very talented. I also remember my mom always taking me shopping for clothes & being disappointed in the way they were made.
She spoiled me with quality even though we did not have a lot of money.
So, I do like quality materials, & well fitted clothes.
I also don’t like when a designer on HSN makes an item in petite and acts like they are throwing us a bone and we should be grateful that they made that 1 item I don’t like or want in a petite.
They need to learn respect for their customers & to include everyone Regular, Talls & True petites.

I so much agree, being 5′ tall. We make up about 1/4v of all women.. All the talk about being inclusive doesn’t apply to us, I guess.. Will never forget when a host selling a long maxi dress, said it could be worn by a petite if they wore 4″ heelsl And Anthony stood there and just laughed about it. I’m older, but even my younger friends don’t wear any heels (especially with arthritis). It was a long time before I watched watched HSN again, and certainly not Anthony. I disagree because Denim & Co. Their Petites and jackets always fit me. Narrow shoulders, shorter torso. It really makes me mad when pants, jeans and long dresses are not made in Petite. They don’t even try to adjust the length so it fits everyone. Am also sick of celebrity designers who own three mansions selling apparel they would never wear.

      • angie0215
      • 08.16.24 2:39 PM

I could not have said it better. I am barley 5 feet. I watch the hosts & they are all acting. You have very overpaid actors selling you stuff they would not be caught dead. Amy makes me laugh she has very expensive taste with Cartier jewelry, yet she will try & sell u the Brooklyn bridge for her paycheck.
It is out & out a disgrace what they are trying to sell to begin with they pay 1 or 2 dollars for a garment it all cheaply made. When they sell at clearance they are still making a huge profit which is what people do not understand.
They constantly say oh if you are petite you can where this do they mean 5’2 or 5’3 with long legs.
Why should we have to buy anything less than a petite size.
Petites have been out for over 25 years.
HSN is totally out of touch with their customers.
Collen Lopez’s line is an HSN owned line of clothing & they still don’t make everything in petites they just don’t care that is why they do not do 1/2 as well as QVC.
QVC sells at a little higher price but it is so well worth it most not all of the designers make quality & great sizing.
People think it is owned by QVC it is not it is only 30% owned by QVC the CEO of HSN is Rob Muller since 2022 and he could care less about his customers. He is a DEI hire.

susy thought we lil gals were a larger percentage, so googled it. 40% of the population. of women are 5’3″ & under!! Sadly we must pay a premium at specialty to get clothing that fits.
Once again, as I posted years ago, we must begin compalining. There is strength in numbers. I am seeing that this community isnt used much anymore. I think the way to go would be on chats when they are presenting.. Simply ask why no petites?

      • orignal1030
      • 09.04.24 12:43 AM

I also am tired of NOT getting PETITE sizes. I bought 3 capris in PETITE from Woman Within and they fit PERFECTLY!! And they were also 0nly $7.99 each. I am done with both Qvc and HSN!!! I threw away 8 pairs of Antthony pedal pushers because he didn’t make them in PETITE. I was tired of rolling down the waistband like he said to do, because he wouldn’t make PETITE.

I agree about the very limited petite clothing at HSN. Iman makes gorgeous clothing and sometimes has petites. She has a beautiful new dress that I like but it does not come in petite and will be way too long and needs extreme alterations! note to HSN: please do better for petite gals!

This is why I don’t order much clothing from HSN. Every time I see a pant that I like, it is way too long.

I just canceled jeweled sweater due to discrimination against customers who wear petite sizes. Lloyd Boston…..are you listening? I canceled an order because you discriminate. Go away.

I disagree about QVC being superior to HSN. I like their clothes alot better and the hosts are alot calmer and stay on task. Overall, they both have pluses and minuses but HSN is easier to deal with. QVC is so wacky now, I am very selective about watching their shows.

    • ecg1
    • 08.24.24 11:36 PM

I saw Lloyd Boston a new designer on HSN. It seems odd that a new brand would come to HSN and not offer petite inseams. I saw LB70 by Lloyd Boston Luxe Sweater Pant with Scallop Hem (877-574) and was ready to order all three colors. These pants cannot even be hemmed because they have scalloped hems. They were so long that the Host did not have them on. The pants that one model had on was almost dragging on the floor and she had on heels. The average woman shopping at HSN is not 5 ft. 8-10ins. tall and always wears 3 to 4 inches high heel shoes every day. Someone should tell him that a change is required quickly. If not, he will find is pants discounted and on clearance.

article from business insider states women under 5’4″ are 50% of the female population. It is pathetic we are ignored.
I gained weight, so lg feel a bit tight, Purchased xl tops and freaked they were huge on me.
couldnt figure it out so went back to size charts. OMG From xs thru lg each size increases by 2 inches , then, at xl increases to 3″ larger, & some increase then by 4″. They . Cater to tall thin women. Interestingly tho average size for American women is 16-18. sooo, I am now searching for the few designers whose sizes are ok for me to purchase.

HSN is selling lower priced and lower quality versions of their clothing since about 2000-2001. I notice anything I purchase from HSN is lower quality material, lower quality control. Now, QVC seems to have stuck it out and is going back to more high dollar items. Both channels often sell the same version of an item, say it is frayed hem jeans or such. I notice it all looks about the same. Locally, I have to drive further to find the reasonable stores, our Kohl’s has gone downhill and shrunk in half and the Penney’s closed. So this year, I decided to order some newer clothes and get rid of the old stuff that I don’t like or don’t feel comfortable in. The winner seems to be QVC. I ordered Iman’s Ponte pants from HSN and they never arrived, but was refunded my money.
