What’s your wish list for HSN’s fashion lines?
Here are mine:
**All vendors: More pants and jackets in petite sizing. I do not buy these items unless they’re petite because at 5’3" the inseam and sleeves are just too long.
**Slinky: I adore their tees and tanks, but I’d like them to add a new fabric that’s a tad heavier. I actually wear two tees together sometimes, and the color of the tee underneath peeking out at the neckline is very nice. They offered shirts with rayon added to their usual fibers recently, so maybe there will be more of that. I do love their sets of three tees/tanks! The colors are soooo gorgeous! I’d also like to see their skater dress done in a ponte knit or some four-season fabric rather than just the lace. I’d like elbow or three-quarter sleeves. I just love the classic lines on that dress, but it’s not for everyday wear the way a ponte or such would be. No one offers that style but them.
**Antthony: He is perhaps HSN’s best designer as far as the cut of his clothes goes. I just love his designs. However, I usually don’t like the prints he chooses. I don’t know why. Still, Antthony is enormously talented, and his clothes are affordable.
**Diane Gilman: I find the waist on her pants to be too big. I must wear a belt or the pants fall down. I don’t have a disproportionate figure, so it isn’t me. If she puts so much stretch in the waist, why must she make the waist so big? I have a number of her jeans that look great after six or more years. They truly last a LONG time. I love the new super stretch fabric, but the problem with the waist is even more pronounced. I think the beautiful Diane (I would kill for hair like hers) designs for her own body type. Her shirts are a bit too boxy, IMO. I like an easy fit, but some are too boxy even for me.
I remember years ago when DG announced that she’d be changing her line to jeans. I thought it was a terrible idea. I was wrong in a big way! I like that she’s gotten away from so many embellished jeans, as I would never wear them. I like the plain ones.
**I miss Carolyn Strauss, though. I had a pair of her ankle pants that was just fabulous and a tunic of hers is wonderful and will look new for years. Could they bring her back even if just for a test run?
**Rhonda Shear: I would love to see those lace panties manufactured without the lace. Maybe she could do ones with solid and printed fabrics instead of solid and lace? They are fabulous in terms of function, but I don’t like the lace. RS is funny and terrific to watch.
**Iman: She offers some really beautiful clothes, but I’ve found the sizing inconsistent at times. I bought a gorgeous pair of trousers years ago in my usual size. They were too tight. The next size was also tight in the thighs. I do not have large thighs at 5’3", 120 pounds, though I’m not skinny. I got a M in another style of pants because of this, and it was HUGE.
**Jamie Gries: I’d like to see more heavy sweaters, especially in marled knits, which I LOVE. She should do updates on classic sweaters while still keeping them classic. I love acrylic knit sweaters that are somewhat thick. They wash and wear like iron and are comfortable during the cold months in the Northeast.
**Giuliana: She should offer more dresses and skirts that are longer.
**HSN’s CEO Mindy and her staff: They have done an amazing job remaking HSN’s fashion line since Mindy arrived. At first I thought the use of the runway was ridiculous and called their uber-trendy fashions "clown clothes." At that point, I thought they needed more basics that someone who doesn’t buy trends would use. They’ve done that in spades, bringing in Marla Wynne, Hal Rubenstein, etc., etc., etc. They don’t have as many clothing items as QVC, but they sometimes have a better assortment, and they discount while QVC will keep something in stock literally for years rather than slash the price.
I would love to see long vest with narrow shoulders and high low.
I would like to see all high low. It is so much more flattering for us carrying our weight in our tummy and hips.
I would love to see Vionic shoes. It is a huge seller and much needed for the many of us with foot problems. A wonderful shoe!
I would love to see more 3rd layer pieces. Meaning, cocoon type pieces that you can wear over the top and pants again to flatter the body. We need for not just winter or fall, but alson Summer.
Would love to see more crop pants.
Would love to see more cotton based Summer items and again the hi-low tops in cotton, with the cotton knit crop! That would amazing.
Thanks for asking!
Maxi dresses in tall sizes. So many beautiful maxi dresses and can’t find one long enough. :catsad:
I wish they would woo Carol Anderson and get her CAbi (Carol Anderson by invitation) line on HSN. They wouldn’t get any returns, that’s for sure, and I would love to get these beautiful clothes on flex pay.
Consistency in sizing in a brand. It is understanding that not all brand sizes will be consistent with another brand. THE real problem is that many brands are not consistent within its own line . One time a dress, pants , shirt , skirt , shoes will fit , the next time (different item same brand ordered before ) and it will be waaay tooo smalll or waaay too large . jus sayin
Classic lines and better material. I am tired of clingy material, cold shoulder and moto anything! Fun styles for the younger buyers but longer more tailored for the mature shopper.
SunandSee, you do realize that Lisa Robertson is not actually a designer, right?
She just approved copies of what other people had created.
Classic blazers in tweed, plaid. A-line skirts. I’m tired of slouchy.
CLOTHES MADE IN AMERICA!
To Hal Rubenstein: This leather loving lady would like to see skirts and dresses in hemlines at the knee. Also some colors other than black and brown. Thanks in advance.
My wish: SOMEBODY, design a THIN 3/4 or full lenth knit duster in Nordic/Fairisle print all over. Come ON, I have been asking for 2 years!
I miss Papell Studio. That was a fabulous line.:smileyhappy: I do like Antthony. I am a girly girl
and I love my dresses.
Classic clothes that never go out of style and hold up to years of wear.
Substantial fabrics, not the ultra thin stuff meant to be layered.
Skirts that fall just below the knee.
NO MORE TIGHTS, please! They are not flattering on all body shapes.
I watched the old movie "Three Coins in a Fountain" yesterday and the three women stars were dressed so well. Sometimes wish we could go back to dressing in classic styles with hat and gloves. In those days you never went to town to shop without being well dressed. Today, too many people have grown rather sloppy in their attire as attested to by the videos you see about what’s worn at Walmart. It’s not pretty. :womanfrustrated:
This is not exactly an answer to the question(Sorry) but I wish they would give the measurements while item is being presented like they used to.I have lost out on buying several items trying to look it up online or wait to talk to CS.
Ditto to OHOHOH!
