What’s Your Style?
I call my style casually chic straight leg jeans, leggins with the boots over them. Bright tops and sweaters, sterling and turquoise jewelry. I like medium large show stopper bags. My favorite dresses Colleen Lopez cold shoulder black sweater dress, Liz Lange Black sweater dress. Like Heidi Daus watches. So I will quit rambling what is your style? What are your favorite pieces in your ward robe?
Gimme a break. There’s worse things than being homeless. I KNOW. please, what’s your style?
I guess people here never touched or spoke to street people. Its obvious by saying its not a cause of mental illness or a state of poverty due to not having resources for issues related to function in society. Unless you know these people no one is judging but the person who posts she purposely dressed as a dirty bag lady. My point is that these ladies don’t want to look that way or are too sick to care. So its annoying when you have blessings of little black dresses with Heidi jewelry why poke fun at lesser fortunate by saying you dress like them. If its your humorous way of making people laugh then perhaps people might ,however, I don’t see any chuckles as of yet.
Massha ..yes..guilty of not dressing well because of laziness and wanting comfort. The problem I had was dirty clothes and that’s not something people who are aware and healthy are likely to do. Also walk around with untied laces. I am guilty of wearing sweats and keeping pilled shirts and sweat jackets with little holes but this is just a don’t dress to impress look if I am not going anywhere but the garden or corner store. I cared for many people from the streets and its not a look but they are unaware that they often smell offensive, carry live, maggots on unhealed sores and don’t feel bad about being in this state.
How do associate Bag Lady with homeless?? or Mentally Ill?? our family donates as much as possible to all different associations and churches. Has anyone checked the streets of New York, what a sin, we don’t know what they are going through, or have been through. OUR FEET WILL NEVER FILL ANYONE ELSES SHOES, NOR WALK THE SAME PATH. Regardless of how we dress, it’s whats in our Heartfelt Emotions, Thoughts, Heritage, Faith, not our clothing.
Some people use different ways and venues to express emotions, I can’t and won’t judge, it’s a great day, when we wake up and we are able to breathe, share, and mostly pay back in this world.
Wishing everyone the Brightest Sunshine In Their Lives, Always.
Yes Macie but I don’t think that the term bag lady is numerous. Most of us have the understanding that people in the streets are mentally ill and homeless. At one time these bag ladies were educated people and were mothers, sisters and daughters. Its our society who created bag ladies as there are not enough services in any state to accommodate mentally ill and treat them. People just need to understand that bag lady is a sick lady and the term itself is mocking mental illness. If someone made a,racial comment it would not be tolerated. I find referencing mental illness in a derogatory fashion is equal to racism.
Of course the bag lady look! Stains, holes, clothes that are shabby and untied laces. That look seems really en trendy lady! Especially downtown in the city where the ladies congregate with their shopping carts. My heart goes out to them and you for actually poking fun at these women who look like that not out of choice but because of being mentally ill and homeless. Shame on you.
Who stores all their clothes? What’s the sense of that? What do you do? Run around naked. Makes no sense to comment on that but it is unusual to store all your clothes. Just think if we stored our clothes then you can’t change your underwear.
Hysterical posts. I just stick to what would Janis Joplin wear?
My style is very casual at the moment as we are redoing an old Victorian. My clothing is all stored so I hope soon to recreate my style.
Smart easy-living causal.
This is a good question. I am classic/causal depending on the what or where I’m going.
I like Magnolia Pearl art clothes by Robin Brown. She makes such great clothing. I wish she would
bring her line to HSN. They are great for when I’m in the garden, In Colorado up in the mountains,
or my home state Tenn. Very relax clothes and I wear my Heidi Daus
If I want to keep it classic well I have several LBD of course there is a Heidi Daus piece I am wearing with it.
Everybody lifestyles and taste are different. Former model here so I have done it all.
Great post Macie412
When/if I am employed I dress like a homeless person ready to panhandle. The only reason I work seasonally at retail is an employee discount, I set my own hours (daytime and part-time) and management pays me way more then the permanent crew. My posture is just short of needing a cane. This season I wore the same pair of stretch pullon oversized black pants that I constantly had to pull up… Sweaters with sleeves so long and stretched out from washing ….they extend 5 inches past my fingers. There’s a hole or a stain here and there…. I shuffled my feet in worn out pair of shoes with laces hanging out. No make up. I brushed my hair almost every day, though. And it really shocks me when people (often!) ask me for an advice to chooose one thing over another. I would not ask ME. :catvery-happy:
The rest of the time I am the cats meow. I do not own jeans and traditional T-shirts. I wear dresses with jewelry-friendly necklines, Love maxis, but can wear any kind. Prefer sleevless (for bracelets). Silk scarves- occasionally arond neckline, mostly on bags. Most of the time I wear sunglasses (not as a fashion statement, just an eye condition) I wear jewelry appropriate to the time of day. I change for dinner dates. I wear heels, although not always stilettos. Tall boots. Real fur and leather. Long gloves, leather and fabric. Hats – wool, felt, straw…everything except for baseball caps. My husband is often complimented on the way I look :smileyvery-happy:
Oh yea…. I am totally indifferent to purses and wallets. I have a closet full of them, but if I have a choice I use my husbands pockets as my purse. Otherwise, a medium-size carryon suitcase on wheels…:womanlol:
Conservatively comfortable with loads of jewelry.
? My style is off the wall, charts, and always has been. I believe the oldest child is a trend setter in the world, especially triple Scorpio’s. I wear what I want, and never, ever go through the happiness my Parents took from Italy and put into my "Heart" ~ Before my first brother was born, and any grandchildren, I was the "ONLY" I used to hide when my Mom wanted to cut my bangs real short, it was tortue in school. I was changed every 2 to 3 hours with Dresses that would amaze Disney!! I had real fur shawls, real Italian gold, so I resorted to using my brain to Study everything, memorize everything, I never got a chance for 6 years to be ME. Actually until I was 21, (could not even shave my legs, nor do proms) By the age of 25 I Soared into "Who’s that Girl" LOL I did everything my way!! Shopped In New York only, had my own manequinn, designed my own outfits, yes some casual, and some that Jaws dropped when walking into a High Mass Wedding, my poor Parents would hide. From Hat to jewelry to Stilletos, to Blinging Clothes, Burgundy Hair, I had fun and you know what I Still am. I can wear my leggings with my Joan Boyce Clogs in Gold and they are all blinged out with a Hanes Sweatshirt falling off my shoulders with a layer of lace, french nails to every nail has jewelery in 14kt gold. Picture Julia Roberts Hairdo always and it’s natural, with a designer suit from Joan R. to Den. Basso. Oh I love scarfs, making more from curtains, some days I go for all out Cozy. Hmm, well you asked.
I am very easy and love People, I don’t ask for acceptance, I walk in my own shoes, from Uggs to Doc Martins, Girls Just Want To Have Fun:) Living life in a George Benson Masquerade to Fundraising and Giving Seminars with my hair in a bun, and glasses.
My poor Hubby:) My Poor family & friends, yet I do make them happy, and the kids love playing in my closets, perfumes, makeups. I love to Give:)
Sending everyone a happy & enchanting day:) toffedude
