to Iman. 52" IS NOT SHORT!
Please learn what Short or Petite really means, before you say you offer items in these lengths. 52″ is not short. It is 4″ too long for me, and I am 5′ tall. You have a large group of poster’s here who would love to buy your clothes, if they didn’t have to hem every item they purchased. I am included in these shoppers.
No it is not from a man.
Petite starts under 5’4″ and average starts at 5’5″ and tall starts at 5’7″ I think??:)
Good luck to all and have a wonderful time:)
Peace and love always:)
I am wondering if Iman meant the length 🙂
I am not sure but I did hear her say Short:)
Good luck everyone:)
Peace and love:)
5’3.. And I work w/ BIG animals! That is why I have the screen name of Boots2Jeans.
Work hard, come home and now I visiit with the Arcade. :smileysurprised: This site is a welcome to me after a long day. Back to 5’2, I am not the only one in the family in the 5ft. My brother is 4’9 and rides his horse like wild fire! sis is 4’10.. the list goes on in my family. We are not little people.
At 5′ 10″ (70inches) I have always had to know what length clothes are before buying (catalog or TV). While I can understand not wanting to spend more money to shorten a new clothing item, I can not buy many, many styles because they are too short. That being said, I do not like Maxi’s because they are too much trouble (I do not wear heels) at full length. I have always preferredmid to lower calf lengths for dresses and skirts…..just about impossible to find in dresses. I hate it when short designers say how the length is perfecr(short) when it barely covers some of their knee…for me it would be a mini, 3-5in above my knee.
The issue is that companies perfer to offer more colors than different lengths. Mens pants alway come in lengths but not many colors or style. In todays world it will only get worse for all of us, unless you can afford the expensive clothes.
Petite would denote a smaller frame. Many many designers cut petite sizes differently than average sizes. It may be narrower in the arms, smaller in the waist, etc. A true petite 14 will not fit like an average 14, just like a 14W would fit differently.
People, like myself who are just “short” often have to move over to petite for the sake of length. Not necessarily the “entire cut.” Cuts are different.
I’ve been buying cheap clothes, more expensive clothes for a very long time now, and yes there is a difference. In “women’s sizes” a 14W would be larger than an average 14. Same holds true for petites.
So, yeah, that’s what I’m saying and the OP is getting at, although we don’t know if she is short or petite too. :womanwink:
For us that are truly short in stature and petite buying a 52 inch dress would be futile . Hemming alone does not make it fit correctly.
I am 5’6″ and I use to wear maxi dresses when I was younger and I wore flats or an inch heel:)
I cannot wear heels:)
Wishing the designers would let the models wears flats on their fashions:)
This would give a person the size and length to look for Just my opinion:)
Thank you for sharing:)
Peace and love:)
I agree. I, too, am 5′ and I can’t wear heels more than about 1 1/2″. I looked long and hard at the TS because I really liked the style, but in the end I didn’t order solely because of the length.
Received Iman’s maxi green dress today and it is not as expected. The color is nice, but the fabric wirnkles so much and is of poor quality. I don’t know what is happening with HSN selling this crap by thousands. Returned right away. Will not be buying any more products from her or JM.
It occurs to me (that happens every now and then) that the short version of this garment leans toward the top of the petite scale. This means it might be best suitable for those at least 5’3 or 5’2. It IS SHORT, just not short enough for us. LOL.
I totally agree is neither ‘short’ nor ‘petite’ for those of under 5’4″ (which IS petite). There are several things I’d love to purchase…but not when it’s going to cost me more $ for altering.
I am 5’3″ and I think the shorter version would fit me. It goes against my years of home ec classes to pay someone $15 to do a simple hem. My 1970’s era machine does not do well with so many of the stretch fabrics so I found a serger for sale on craiglist for $150. It paid for itself, so to speak, in 10 dresses. Maybe I should go into business and do hems for $10!!!
So true…I can order Iman’s tops but nothing else and I’m almost 5’4″ on good days.
? I could have sworn I saw the different bust measurements. This listing is confusing (to me at least) cause she has Regular, Average, Short and Plus. What’s the difference between Average and Regular?
I called and a CS rep told me there are others inquiring about the bust size. I’ve taken my chance with it and I’m hoping for the best.
