I’m thinking of ordering a few Slinky items. I’ve only purchased a few in the past. Some of the pieces I’m considering say Hand Wash. For those of you who are familiar with this line: can they be machine washed on a gentle cycle & still hold up? I want something with easy care & don’t really want to Hand Wash anything!
I have a jacket and their pants. I wash them in with my regular load (perm press) but I do not put in the dryer. I haven’t had any problems with them.
I, too, put the more delicate items in a mesh garment bag and use my delicate cycle. My washer doesn’t have an agitator and is great for my items that should be hand washed. I used to buy from a seller on QVC where everything had to be hand washed and I said never again! I got so tired of hand washing and finding places to lay flat to dry. Speaking only for myself, delicate cycle and mesh bag works. Good luck!
? and ? Thank you so much for your help.:smileyhappy:When I didn’t get an answer here for several days, I thought maybe I had asked a dumb question, lol!! I’m really glad to hear you don’t have to hand wash Slinky items. I have several of those mesh bags. I just wanted to be sure machine washing would not shorten the life of the garment. Thank for the tips about drying them, too. I pretty much either drape or hang dry most of my clothes, but it’s nice to know they could go into the dryer.
I have many Slinky pieces, several in the “lace” material. I wash the more delicate pieces in a mesh garment bag. I use the “hand wash cycle” or the “delicate cycle” in my washing machine for all Slinky. I dry most pieces in the dryer on the lowest setting, sometimes finishing with the “air dry cycle”. Hang when cycle is done. I have never had a problem.
I wash all my Antthony garments the same way. They always come out great! I do not have any garments with embellished do-dads-thingies.
I do not hang to dry because sometime the material stretches at the shoulders. I put a bath towel over the shower curtain rod & drape the garment over it. ~~ Hope this helps !
Patricia… I don’t hand-wash any of my Slinky and I’ve got a ton of pieces from this Line. Because it IS such a stretchy material tho, I do put my pieces in a Mesh Laundry Bag, wash on the Delicate Cycle, and either Hang to Dry or put in the Dryer on Low. However, if I do put them in the Dryer, I need to take them out immediately after the Cycle is done and Hang them up. I’ve NEVER had a problem with Washing & Drying any Slinky piece of clothing.
Here’s a pic of the Mesh Laundry Bags I own, and a very few of the Slinky pieces I put through the Washer & Dryer… (the Crochet/Lacy pieces I turn inside-out before putting in the Bag)
