Request for Designers re: skirt & dress lengths
Please consider making more skirts and dresses in a length that hits just below the knee. I’m a tall woman and most skirts I find are either too long (unflattering) or too short to be worn by a modest mature woman.
I went to the Q looking for a Joan Rivers item, and couldn’t help but notice that every skirt in her line came to just below the knee. Joan was the queen of style, so she knew that many people have goshawful knees and would look much nicer covering them just a bit. Also, when you sit down, your skirt is much more modest and less apt to show your stuff, if you know what I mean. :womanembarrassed:
HELLO TO ALL:smileyhappy: I’ll agree w/ ‘tall’ people…..IF….. you INCLUDE ‘PETITE’ lenghts!!! Problem ‘TRYING TO ‘FIT’ ALL WOMAN…..AND…..JUST ‘CAN’T’ BE DONE….W/O TALL/PETITE LENGTHS…. OFFER BOTH!!!! This way, appropriate for ‘most’/most will be HAPPY….. at least w/the length!!! PS: I’M 4’8, 90lbs-I ‘KNOW’ I’M THE ‘EXCEPTION’ –WHAT I WOULDN’T ‘GIVE’ …. PAY!!! ….. FOR ‘ANY’ MAXI (ADULT) SKIRT/DRESS—MY FEW MAXI’s…… SKIRTS-3 TOTAL, kids sz 8, 10; DRESSES-also 3 TOTAL, kids sz. 12, 14! Have so few b/c I ‘WON’T’ WEAR ‘ANYTHING’ ‘CHILDISH IN THEME’ ETC…..AND ‘NOONE’ OFFERS ‘MAXI’ THAT ‘ I ‘ DON’T HAVE TO HEM…OR…IF I DO, THAT IT ‘WON’T’ RUIN THE PATTERN/STYLE/PRINT! I may be on ‘flip’ side of ‘tall’ persons’ plight, BUT I do UNDERSTAND ‘sizing’ FRUSTRATION!!!! :womanfrustrated: SO, NEED TALL **AND** PETITES!! :womanwink:
Last night Colleen presented a skirt that touched just below the knee. It sold out, but I wouldn’t have purchased it anyway, because it had an open slit in the back that went up the leg too far. From the front it looked flattering, but from the back not so much. Is it that hard to make a simple skirt that has enough fabric to come below the knee both front and back?
I’ve been saying this for a few years. For example, I’ll see a Hal Rubenstein leather dress or skirt that I’d love, but the hemline is way too short for me. Knee length please, and I’ll be a buyer.
