Quality of clothing
Clothing quality has gone down. I have been buying Slinky and Anthony Designs for years. Last purchase of a Slinky jacket had a small pin hole in it and the floral pattern was very odd, more solid black and white than floral. Wore the Anthony outfit last night and discovered one inch long rip in seam. It was too late to fix and had to hope nobody noticed. I know prices are reasonable and everything is going up but I would prefer to pay a little more than buy cheap looking defective clothing. Very unhappy with quality lately.
Not all HSN prices are cheap. I see some of the same Yellow Box shoes cheaper at stores.
I too am not happy with the quality at HSN.
I recently bought Naturalizer shoes, Breezes. The paint is not applied correctly and white stitching is visible, and it shows in a portion of the heel inside of the shoe. The box had a QC label. What a joke.
Shariff bag failing apart.
Serenna Williams tops major pill after only a few hand washes.
I could keep going with this subject.
And wish they would use cotton, even a cotton blend would be nice. I bought a Tiana B dress that was absolutely wonderful, classic styling I would have loved to keep but the fabric just felt like plastic and I knew would burn me up in humid summer. Too bad as it was a really nice other than fabric.
Quality control needs to be more vigorous. the loop that held the strap on my darling wallet from Sharif broke within the first couple days of use! I was not going to return it for that because I truly love the painted mama giraffe kissing the head of her baby – but it really should not have broke like that. The purse that I gave as a gift has the painting getting erased even though my friend is not wearing it. It’s as if the painting was not fixed up properly and is extremely unstable, at least on one side. My own bag is not that bad, but it too seem to be rubbing off too quickly. Sharif needs to do something to his painted bagas to make them more durable.
Heidi Daus pins break off the needle thingie.
Not to mention the grrrrrrrrrrrrr gray stone necklace with no sign of blue labradoresecence at all I received from Jay King under the name of labradorite necklace. That one made me really annoyed. Because I can send the pins to Heidi for repair, and I can fix the strap by attaching any old piece of leather to it. But I can’t turn dull gray stone into one that shines off blue! And because I really wanted a necklace that shines off blue!
I am not buying that much clothing lately so can’t really tell. Everything I ordered came fine, unless I am forgetting something which of course I could.
Wrong thread for this but I want to once again praise the Nikki Poulos dress – whatever it’s called, with the big blue women on it – fabulous cut and fabulous fabric.
I have been buying Antthony for years too. I easily have over 100 pieces. I have quite a bit of Slinky too. I didn’t care for Slinky’s orig fabric. I like the fabric they use now.
What pleased me was both companies had their clothing made in the USA. I have left many comments & reviews praising both companies for keeping it made in America !!! I strongly support companies who use AMERICAN workers.
Both Antthony & Jackie or the show host, always let the viewers know their products are American made.
What’s that old saying….? All good things must come to an end ?
I have noticed many of Antthonys things are now….. um… imported.
I don’t think imported means from New Jersey.
I just looked at Slinky to see if I see any imported items. The first thing I click on was a former ts416-153 & it’s imported. I’m not going to keep checking…what’s the point.
Clealy both companies have jumped the "MADE IN THE USA" ship & are setting sail for foreign shores. That’s sad when they both bragged for years about their clothing being made here. I will not buy imported items from either company as a matter of principle, so it looks like I might be saving a lot of money down the road. I think it’s just a matter of time before all Antthony & Slinky are foreign made/ imported.
I must agree. Quality has gone down. My last Slinky purchase just may have cured me of
ever buying clothes on line again. It’s such a hassel to repackage stuff and send it back.
