Palazzo Pants and Jumpsuits on different body shapes ?
I am 5 2 and have a little bit of a tummy and poochier hips. I keep seeing all of the models with the jumpsuits on. I usually wear an XS in Giuliana Line, PXS in DG 2, Short XS in Iman Pants (muffin top sticks out in her line so I only wear her panst with long tunics). I find that in general Jumpsuits ride up in a cetain area of my behind because I don’t have a flat behind and a small muffin top. So basically from a side profile I look heavier. Can anyone chime in on the various jumpsuits and palazzo pants. Your shape and what ones worked for you and what didn’t work for you ?
I understand what you mean. I, too, am very petite. However, it doesn’t matter what designer makes the palazzo pants they just don’t look nice on me. I’ve no particular body problem, they just makes my legs look shorter than they really are. I need to stick with a slimmer profile no matter what pants, trousers or jeans I wear. Two years ago I came across an amazing jumpsuit. It was slim through the hips and thighs. I love it. Problem is I have never been able to find another one like it. My older brother teases me and calls it my "biker uniform". Believe me, I’m not ‘biker’ anything. It’d be nice if those that design jumpsuits make them for petite sizes. The ones that I’ve seen all have wide legs and that looks awful on me.
Thanks for the comments. I am still on the fence about palazzo pants. The jump suit, I think some of the models they should tell us the height of the model not just the size when talking about the jumpsuit. I think if it is really made for petites it might look nice. I have not seen one that doesn’t look over whelming. Stefanie greenfield tried to make one and she is petite, it does make her look skinny but I did not like the patterns she selected. Nikki Poulos had nice patterns but the one I wanted to try already sold out quickly before the price reductions…Keep commenting ladies if you ordered a jump suit tell us all the details.
I watched the presentation last night of Iman’s palazzo pants where if you buy one, you get one pair free. Suzanne almost had me convinced to buy a set since she loves them so much and the pant legs don’t seem like the old style palazzo’s that were so wide they’d hinder your gait. I then read the reviews that stated the waistband was so tight that the pants were quite uncomfortable, so I opted not to make the purchase.
I’d like to know if anyone reading this has had the same problem with a too tight waistband on the Iman palazzo’s..
I’m hourglass but short waisted so jumpsuits have always had too much material piling up around my lower waist. I can’t order smaller because of my bust. Serena’s wide leg jumpsuit was the closes I’ve gotten to one fitting me. I tried her wide leg pant in size L in white and hated then. Then the next review came in and I decided to try a smaller size and different color and love it in a M in the navy. Very comfortable. Imans paisley palazzo is tighter in the waist and I needed a size larger. I was surprised with how classy her turquoise palazoo pants look. When they first aired I thought no way. Im old enough to have been around years ago when both items were popular in the past. My impression at that time was that extra material just made your whole body look larger. I did not find that to be the case this time. It must be the fabric that lays nicer this time around. Try Serena’s wide leg pant. The white is rather see through so be aware of that color.
I am tall and pear-shaped. Hate palazzo pants–don’t like the swish as I waddle. I also learned years ago not to wear jumpsuits. Besides feeling like a stork since my legs are so long, it was a nightmare getting them off quickly when nature called, if you know what I mean. :womanfrustrated:
