No comments about Diane Gilman’s TS?
Personally, I’m thrilled! I’m partial to jackets/blazers, and I’ve always appreciate DG’s high quality.
Any other thoughts?
(I still miss the silk skirts she used to present.)
RE: DG2 Faux leather jeggings
Originally got them in Tall Med which is where the whole crotch issue discussion arrised. Thank God I don’t have to bring it up again! (see below)
Exchanged for a Tall Small and MUCH BETTER.
Mind you the garment measurement for this tells me I should’ve ordered a Tall Large….can you imagine both crotch buldge and diaper butt?
Now about the blazer, here’s the scoop:
It’s really nice and tailored looking.
It gives me a nice shape cinched in at the waist and not too flared at the hip.
I’m tall with thin arms so the other complaints don’t apply to me.
I did order a Small but because it is a substantial weight it’s definately a fall/winter item so am going to try a Med if they have it.
Also the color navy is very very dark and could pass for black.
The arms are short but there’s enough fabric to lengthen them to actually be decent looking.
It also has shoulder pads which are going to come out asap.
I ordered 3 of her TS blazers and I love them. This was my first DG purchase and I was unsure how it would fit considering the longer torso, but it fits very well and the blaszer is very well made. It’s a good weight for Fall/Winter months and maybe cooler Spring months. It’s fits like some of my more expensive blazers. I have found myself grabbing one of these blazers on the way out the door to work or going to dinner and I always get compliments. I was alittle leary since I am younger (mid 30’s) and the cut seems to lean more toward older women, but it works for many different ages and body types. I don’t know if I’ll venture into her jeans and pants based on the posts here but she does make good blazers.
Gise, did you get your blazer yet?
My blazer isn’t due to arrive till the 30th. I did finally receive the plaid shirt ….TOO SMALL.
Just got the faux leather jeggings so HERE GOES:
Can someone pleeeeeze tell me why the crotch (just the V area) is always large enough to fit a male appendage and it’s two companions?
I get that the tummy bulge can begin under the bust all the way down to the top of the V of the crotch. I get the back fat, the love handles, the larger booty, the rounded hips, the heavier inner and outer thighs just below the V of the crotch but does the actual V where the pubic hair is really gain weight? I’d really like to know because that would explain the pouf of extra material needed.
Sorry to be so graphic but I am talking about the fit of a garment and the crotch is a body part just like any other.
We all have seen naked women, our mothers, sisters, friends, at the gym etc. but I’ve never seen a fat crotch.
I’ll say this, the faux leather is really nice because it’s not shiny or thin like most “pleathers”. It’s a little distressed and matte like real leather would be. If it weren’t for the crotch it might be a perfect 5 star!
Granted I ordered the tall and it’s still too short but I could live with that. I’m going to give it another shot and exchange for a size smaller.
If someone wants to chime in here on the crotch subject I’m all ears.
I love her clothing but I have given up on her. Her sizing is too unrealiable. I got tired of always having to send things back even though I looked at the size charts. If she could fix the sizing problem, I would be back in a heartbeat.
My orders STILL haven’t shipped. This is very unusual for HSN. Q usually takes longer, but my HSN items are normally shipped very quickly. They have said “Packaging” for about 5 days. There are still no reviews, so I guess no one has received the jackets yet.
I ordered 3 at midnight and my order status says Extended Delivery. Did this happen to anyone else?
I liked the look of the blazer. It would be like a mini coat on me. Petite in stature. If it came in a shorter length, I would have considered it.
I think it’s about time nice blazers come back in style. I like single button and double breasted too.
I thought the blazer was sharp looking. Hey if it even looked good on Diane…just sayin’.
Haven’t had a blazer in such a long time so I ordered the navy in S. With her sizing I have no idea if that’s the size I need. I’m tall so the length will be fine although the sleeve length may be too short. She mentioned the buttons were also set lower so that’s a plus for me. It’s on extended delivery but will report back.
I’m waiting to see how it compares to the Lysse Highland jacket which I got in Herringbone. It cost a pretty penny $108.00 at the event price and now back to 148.00.
Unlined, no pockets but for once the sleeves are long enough. Sometimes just that little thing is worth the price since it’s soooooooo rare to find.
I am hoping that everyone who orders this DG2 blazer has a good experience. For those who are ordering this and need some guidance, I would definitely look at the Garment Measurements Chart. Also, DG2 jackets (and tops) are typically large in the upper arm near the shoulder and in the hip area, yet they fit smaller in the bust than you would expect. They are also long. At just under 5’5″, short-waisted with long legs, larger bust, and smaller hips, I would be overwhelmed by this jacket everywhere but at the bust, as I have been by other DG2 jackets (such as the holiday velveteen ones).
I think Colleen looks outstanding in the navy blazer. It fits her perfectly. The navy also hides workmanship issues, so I’d definitely choose a dark color if I were ordering one. I think the models’ blazers are too tight, so they may have gone down a size. Best of luck if you are ordering this TS!
I had two in my shopping basket yesterday after viewing a pre-sale presentation hosted by Shannon. But, after hearing Shannon say she was wearing a medium, the size I would have gone for, I knew I’d have trouble with sizing on this blazer so I gave it a miss. I would probably need the large in order to fit my bust area but then I’m sure the rest would be big . Between that and the length, if I got a large, it would more than likely be all wrong for my 5′ 4″ height. Hope it works for those who did order as it looks very nice.
I am happy for those of u who have had great experiences w Diane’s line. Unfortunately, I had a horrible experiencing trying to fit into her jeggings and ponte pants. I have never exchanged so many pants in my life, just to end up returning them all! There was no accuracy in sizing, which is already confusing to begin with since they’re vanity sized. I do think she is fun to watch though. She reminds me of Woody Woodpecker with that big, fabulous red hair.
I usually take a large in a blazer with 42 bust and 44 ” hips. Could a moderator help us with sizes as I have never bought any of her clothing? The measurements look like a need an extra large but I don’t think with the stretch in it I would. Help please. Thanks
I’m absolutely thrilled to see a blazer come back. Maybe it’s the tomboy in me but I love blazers and trouers or jeans. I think the zipper pocket is cute. I’m not thrilled with the lapels but it takes a while for new styles to grow on me so I wouldn’t say I don’t like them yet. Sometimes I feel like instead of fashion we get gimmicks, though, just to make them different. I’m a petite but have longer arms, too, so I usually have to try jackets on to get the right fit. I hope the blazer isn’t super fitted, either. I need a little spare room around the middle now. Too many cranberry muffins from Sprouts turns into an actual muffin top. Who knew?
I’ve never purchased any DG2. How have other items in her line fit? Are her styles suitable for 20-30 year olds? I have long arms and worried about the arm length. I’m interested in the blazer but would love to hear any thoughts on the blazer TS.
