newer "faux" leather?
I love my leather and have a closet full of items. Recently because of the cost, I decided to try some of the newer faux leather. I first bought a pair of black culottes. They were quite nice and at only $12, obviously a good buy. So, I decided to try another, this time a pair of black slim pants. They are very nice too. I wore them Sunday to church and dining out and got a lot of compliments. So I’m trying again here on the HSN site and just bought a pair of Lysse Espresso (brown) faux leather leggings. I’m hoping they fit right and are keepers too. Anyone here have experience with this brand? Thanks in advance.
I am impressed with how good the faux leather feels to the touch. I bought a G by Guliana jacket. It is hanging in my closet next to a North Beach Leather suit and they feel the same. Now what will really impress me is if it can stand the test of time. My suit is over 25 years old and looks and feels brand new. I suspect the faux leather will not hold up nearly as well, but if you’re just going for a fashion look that will last for a season or two it’s a great option.
I think I’m more apt to try faux suede as opposed to faux leather. ?, ?, does it have cold feel next to the skin? If you wear it in the winter months does it keep you warm?
I can’t speak to the brand Lysee, but if you look around the net you might be able to get some reviews on this brand. I think it’s a shapewear brand that has branched out to offer other types of clothing.
Let us know what you find out about Lysee!
I have looked into ‘vegan’ leather. The problem is, most if not all, are made of petroleum products. I have found lots of real leather items at incredibly affordable prices at Goodwill, ARC, and Echo thrift shops. Be sure to check the tags to make sure it is actually leather. Last week I found a beautiful jacket at a thrift store. It fooled me. It was 100% polyproplylene.
I ‘ve also done well on E-Bay for new and like new leather items. Many of mine are purchases from there and a few from local thrift shops. I’ll try to post a review of the leggings I ordered when they arrive. I am also aware of the problem of longevity. Real leather if cared for can last many years. I am reminded of a synthetic rain coat I had that just deteriorated after about 10 years. I thank those of you for your input.
I own quite a bit from “lysee”. I wear their cotton capri’s and denim’s and can tell you the quality is excellent. Some made in the USA. Their line sells in department stores like Nordstrom and Bloomingdales.
I’ve never tried faux leather, but if they fit I’m sure you will like them. From my experience it’s best to size up on this brand. Good news is their sizing is consistent. Good luck.:womanhappy:
