My quest for a Fair Isle patterned thin long duster cardi
Some of you might remember I have been looking for a thin long duster cardigan in Fair Isle/Nordic pattern for a couple years now. I was hoping Antthony would make one but he did not. This year, many sellers got something they called Fair Isle but in reality was simply geometrical pattern with squares or something like that. Ralph Lauren MIGHT have had a duster vest in the exact pattern I would like last season but I only saw a leftover in size 1X at a Lord and Taylor, and was looking for everywhere to no avail. To be honest, I would prefer not to have to pay a $300 for it the way RL sells…
My quest is now [almost] complete! While I did not find exactly what I wanted (a cardigan of thin sweater knit of at least 35" but preferably more than 40" length with a perfect smallish fair isle pattern throughout, preferably in shades of black, gray, white and maybe red) I found THREE at what is rapidly becoming an important source of clothes for me: Torrid! Yes, the big old me is shopping at a youngster store and loving it. Unfortunately, HSN now does not allow pictures of things from other web sites, so I can’t showcase mine here. So, three cardis. One – duster! in gray/nlack/red/white! but very poor approximation to the pattern. They call it fair isle, but it is not really. I have been on the fence about this one for a couple months already, but in person it looks great. The other one – excellent pattern, white/charcoal gray, but – alas- only thigh length. It does have longer thing in the front at least. The third one – be still my heart! – navy/ivory fair isle -like Doctor Who pattern!!!! yeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Weeping angels and judoons and everything! I have not received that one yet but oh MY WORD what lovely things!
So glad you finally found them! I do remember you looking for one. Stalking does pay off!
