Message to Carol Brodie
PLease , please spare us the religous verbage regarding your "EVIL EYE". YOu clearly know absolutely nothing about the Christian faith except that you are trying to wiggle in somehow and make associations that are completely unbiblical as well as un Christlike, so you can make a profit selling your little trinkets that possess no power at all. Even the hosts cringe when you start your hex talk. Disgusting in a word, I could say much more.
Carol, I hope someone in your organization does read this. LOVE your designs and have bought many lovely pieces, one of which is a 36" moonstone necklace. One of the moonstones has fallen out and I would be happy to pay to have you repair it (my jeweler said they do not handle moonstones). I have called and written to HSN to no avail. Please help.
I LOVE You Carol! You Rock!
I have several of your items and love them!
Totally agree with you Mishkyn. I see lovely pieces of jewelry by other designers, but no longer purchase from them. Designers are taking their work overseas, and the quality of their product is diminishing. I have even noticed a decline in the quality of work in items offered by Heidi Daus, whom I absolutely adore.
I purchase only from Heidi Daus currently, because she stands behind her work. Even though the life time warranty is offered, I still have to pay shipping charges to NJ for the repair. HD LTD should provide return shipping labels upon request in cases of repairs. This is truly standing behind your work….repairing the item and paying for return shipping charges. Customers should not incurr any expense in the event of a repair. I don’t care if I have paid $29.00 on clearance or $299.00 at full price, I expect the jewelry to be durable.
I have just read Catconnie’s comments regarding HD’s $299.00 Pumpkin pin. The pin clasp fell off the back. HD Customer Service first said they couldn’t repair the pin, beauase they lacked the equipment to make repairs of this nature. Next, they told her to send the pin back and they would see what they cold do. Very scary, as I have just returned a Black Widow Spider (Tahitian, Black Diamond) pin for the same type of repair. The pin is less than 1 year old. I have worn it approximately 6 times. Not only was this pin not cheap, I adore it. Let’s hope HD Ltd can either repair both pins or have enough in stock to exchange the damaged pins for new ones. If HD Ltd can’t repair the piece or exchange it for a new one, a total refund should be made, including shipping charges for the repairs.
To me, it is more about having a quality item and being able to wear it for years than the money. If I hadn’t liked the item, I would have not purchased it in the first place. If I purchased it, i did so with the intention of wearing it for years to come.
We all must decide which designers deserve our business and which ones do not.
There are several remarkable designers whose work I love, but they do not stand behind their work.
Why should I spend several hundred dollars on a ring whose design is ruined if one stone falls out? I have decided not to purchase any jewelry, no matter what the price, that cannot or WILL NOT be repaired..
I have seen many dozens of stones obviously glued in–you can see the glue around the edges in the photos. Also, huge amounts of stones with what I call "fake" prongs are in so many pieces.
The prongs are there, they just do not bend over the stones, which are held in by glue. I was given a piece like that and took it to a jewelry repair person I use. He laughed when he saw the the "prongs", and was shocked these pieces are made, let alone sold and purchased.
Heidi Daus will get my business all day long for her incredible lifetime warranty.
My mother never took her wedding set off for 39 years. The engagement ring had an emerald cut diamond, and several princess cuts on the side. Her band had 7 tiny diamonds. She raised 3 children, worked outside the home her entire life, gardened and did dozens of crafts. Not one stone ever fell out or was even loose. The rings had to be cut off when her hands swelled.
The computer machinery now should be able to do more intricate things with jewelry now. How do two rings last 39 years and others rings get ruined in 39 days?
How sad I cannot buy with confidence from any place.
Carol Brodie is an artist and entitled to her interpretation of her art. What have you produced and created and sold on HSN or anywhere else? How dare you judge anyone? I may not believe in the evil eye, but I will give credit where credit is due.
Carol Brodie is a fantastic artist who has overcome many trials, including cancer. What have you overcome?

Sorry, Jesus was born in a matriarchal sect of Judaism.
I’m not sure where your information is from but yes, the evil eye and hamsa hand are.timeless symbols t cross religion, cultures and continents. They are known for two-fold aspects. The eye denotes the awareness of the universe and isn’t limited to any religion. The hamsa hand has two meanings, the hand of God and a symbol of femininity. But in that it embodies peace, healing and more. These are considered the universal feminine aspects. Also cross religion and culture. As you know Jesus was born in a patriarchal sect of Judaism. Both symbols have been attributed to Mary. Sometimes research is our friend. My own cultures? African, French, and native American, all of which in some fashion these symbols have importance. I wear them both humbly and personally.
Thank you for listening.
I’m surprised with the amount of Jewelry Carol Brodie sells and charges, that she doesn’t have her own customer service for repairs with her pieces. Found out the hard way with a Sapphire bracelet that lost a stone.
Does anyone know the name of the Italian (Milan-based) jewelry manufacturer that Carol Brodie referenced to during yesterday’s show? She could not mentioned the name, but she said that a certain ring that she was selling was inspired by that jewelry maker. I am just really curious, Thank you ladies.
TACI…someone is wearing them because they always sell out..or pretty close. Not my style but they must be someones!
Evil-eye-anything is not my style. Hand-of-god-anything is not my style. Carol has some very nice things. I imagine there’s a market for these symbols too, but to me they say "HALLOWEEN". My personal favorites of Carol’s are items are never presented on air but available through website.
I just wish she would be more upfront with treatment instead of touting that the gems are natural. While the gems are natural out of the Earth, most of the ones she sells are highly treated. I’ve seen show hosts on other channels (EVINE for example) talk about gem enhancement/treatment of their product. I truly believe people should understand what they’re getting so they don’t think they’re spending so little on heirloom rubies for example (Carol’s are lead glass filled) and she uses diffused sapphires, and dyed stones. Obviously you get what you pay for, and Carol’s collection is no exception.
As for her designs, I like some, not all. At least she brings in a lot of variety. I hope she reads these things and takes the constructive criticism well. 🙂
I think some of her items are nice, however the amount of money she charges is kind of over the top. I know Barbara Bixby’s items are expensive but you definitely get your moneys worth. Her jewelry has tons of silver and real gem stones. However Carol Brodies seem to be extremely delicate and over priced in my opinion.
In my humble opinion Ms. Brodie jewelry cannot hold a candle to any well known jewelry designers such as Barry Cord, Lois Hill, Barbara Bixby, etc. The high prices and the poor quality of some of her jewelry is really sad. I have returned the 3 items I purchase, that has been over 2 years ago. The jewelry on line appears cheap and thin, and not way would I pay that much for any body vermeil jewelry. Jealous,I think not. The lady sales tastics is a complete turn off as well as much of her jewelry.
Were you watching when she started talking about her divorce and wanting to date again. She said something like, "Are there any takers out there? Or, "So if anyone is interested…" Then she sarcastically announced "I’m turning Hsn into a dating site." Adam looked so uncomfortable and embarrassed.
