I love her clothes, but they are to expensive. Even with 15% off.
I did buy a few of her pieces and enjoy them. It seems like many of the lines have more expensive prices which has made me much more selective and doing much less impulse buying. Sometimes I purchase it and then go back later in the day and cancel it. I didn’t used to do that at all.
Nice clothes, just teamed up with an expensive manufacturer (Seven).. Her clothes are too expensive, I will buy elsewhere.
I bought one of her sweaters her first visit. It was extremely thin material and ran small. I chose not to purchase more for that reason although I do love her line just not the price.
Everything’s too expensive here! *lol* Gotta hang-in for the Clearance. The BEST deal I’ve ever gotten here was a couple of weeks ago. Bought a Nikki Poulos Velvet Burn-out Fringe Scarf. It was originally $60-bucks. Well, who’s gonna pay that!?! Anyways, waited and waited and waited and, finally, it went on Clearance… for $15-bucks! Bought two of them, *vvvbs*.
Out of curiousity, I tried comparing her tops with tops in other places I shop at. It is very difficult because it’s not exactly clear what’s, metaphorically speaking, apples and what’s oranges. MemphisVette, how would YOU run this comparison?
So without doing any actual calculations: relative to the $89 blouse I got: Talbott’s and Coldwater Creek’s blouses are exactly the same price; about half the brands on SimplyBe are around $10-$15 less than Melissa’s; and about half are in the $40-$50 range. The latter ones seem to be quite a bit simpler in styling and much fewer details. Torrid’s blouses are in $40 range; BUT they do have a bit less polish to them, just not made quite that well. Macy’s are around Melissa’s; some are less and some are more. LBryant’s are in the $50-$60 range not counting their fancy brand that is at least twice more than the rest. Making itBig shirts start at around $85 but mostly are at least in $90 range.
On HSN: Marla Wynne shirts are the same price as Melissa’s and some sweaters are more; DG2’s about $20 less.
Prices, unfortunately grew – on everything… And they will grow more. I am still hoping there will be at least Melissa stuff in my size that makes it to deep clearance.
If money is tight and you still want her blouses, keep checking alternative channels. I grabbed her super fabulous poncho at 40% off at Lane bryant during their pre-Christmas sales. It’s the advantage of a brand that sells nationally – like Betsey Johnson – if you keep casting the net, you will catch some outlet having a nice sale. I got a Betsey Johnson phone back at Macys for less than half the price.
That’s why I don’t buy her clothes…not worth it!
