MARLA WYNNE price increases!
I am shocked to see all the sales items that I have been keeping my eye on for any further discounts as per their usual procedures, have now gone UP in price!! Has QVC merger ruined our buying pleasure at HSN – what’s going on???

Maybe they are trying to get us to by clearance items quickly , before the “prices go up” but it’s causing me not to want to buy clearance at all ( or anything for that matter) because it’s frustrating and really an unfair way to treat your customers. As someone else already said, no other stores online or not, engages in this practice.

Many, if not all, Heidi Daus pieces have increased $1.00. Perhaps they thought we wouldn’t notice?????

Hi Harikari – I remember you from the old days of Wayne’s Lucas blog and the frenzy of his fans and his fab clothes. He was a great showman and his clothes were beloved!!!
It seems strange/petty that HSN would add measly $1 unless to increase shipping profit without us knowing:-(.

I bought 3 WynneLayers Mixed Media Chiffon Cardigan
602-385 for $34 on sale a month or so ago – they are now $59!!! -
I agree….I own many MarlaWynne pieces. However, I’m being priced out of Marla’s market! I have curtailed my spending with the price increases. I wait for a 20% coupon or a clearance price. Marla doesn’t order enough stock, by the time the item is restocked in XS or S I’ve lost interest or missed the coupon opportunity. Between the high prices and low inventory I am looking elsewhere. Dillards has great sales on Eileen Fisher and IC Collections.

Last month I purchased a Joan Boyce Denim Jacket on clearance for $49.95 now it’s on clearance for $50.95. HSN raised the clearance price $1.00 unbelievable.

John – agree with you 100%. You have great insight being in retail – I hope decision making management read these threads and understand the dissatisfaction brewing!

I was unpleasant surprised looking at my favorites in the clearance department, here and QVC. Working in retail in the past as a buyer and consultant, this is definitely not the right way to clear the stockroom. Some items are now higher in price, even when they were regular priced. A little explanation would have helped to the customers to clear the confusion! One item went up 300% in the clearance department! I am aware merchandise will go up, but once marked down to clear the stockroom for the spring line , that is unethical and plain greedy. Some of my favorite jewelry included got too high priced and it’s cheaper to go on the jewelers own website. I hope, once they worked the kinks out with the merger, maybe there will be hope to keep loyal consumers!

Hi, Queen Victoria! whenever I see your name, I think of the old days! You encouraged me to try Randolph Duke, and I still have those purchases in my closet! 🙂 I appreciate your reviews — I find them very helpful.
I saw your July post about the loss of the “Buy More and Save” feature that HSN had for YEARS (shipping cost cut in half after the first item), and I agree with you. I was very surprised. It negatively impacted my purchases here. And that decision by HSN was pre-tariffs (which if I understand correctly is 10% on China textiles, handbags, hats, and not sure what else).
I think HSN may be going beyond the tariff justification with the price increases, lack of coupons, and increased shipping costs. And I don’t see how elimination of the Buy More and Save feature will help HSN make more money, as it negatively impacts the amount I buy — and I’m just one person.
Oh well, they’ll analyze the numbers.

Hey Ms Lomo:
Lovely to hear back from you!! Yes I remember the fun of shopping and chatting together in the old days of Randolph Duke and Wayne Lukas – loved their stuff and presentations and too have many of their pieces still in my wardrobe. I hope that HSN keeps one of the last remaining true designers, Mara Wynne and not turn off customers with ever increasing prices and not true clearance prices along with no shipping discounts!! Many online stores offer FREE shipping for purchases over $25.

I have also noticed the price increases and wonder if they are due to the new tariffs. From what I’ve been reading on-line, many of us will be in sticker shock after the first of the year when most of the increases take effect. It will certainly be a game changer for me. I wonder what the effect will be on the dollar stores and other merchants. I surmise time will tell.

I think the tariffs were not on clothing but I could be wrong – in fact today I read that trade negotiations are going really well and will benefit the US worker shortly by reducing trade in balance, if we stand firm. Yes Chinese goods in US will increase but US strength goes up.
I think HSN needs to think of long term benefits by keeping good customers rather than quarterly goals of squeezing every $ and following Q model!!

I too have posted a topic thread specifically about this…a QVC trick for sure…I mean WHO in their right mind continually raises CLEARANCE prices but the Q and now HSN???

I am with you. I have been doing the same thing. I have been so involved in shopping with HSN, I finally went outside the box the other day. My town has built up so much, I have not noticed. I decided to view some of the new Boutique’s that have gone in, and have discovered that they have a lot to offer and I have missed out of a lot in my own town. I believe my hometown has as much if not more to offer at the same quality and better prices than what I can now purchase at HSN and do not have to pay shipping. I now find that I really don’t mind the shopping and trying on the clothing in the clothing stores. As a matter of fact now that I am retired, shopping with a group of women, and then an outing for lunch is relaxing. I have now discovered what I have really been missing out on since I have been retired.
I really enjoyed Marla’s clothing line and I have a lot of her line, I lost a lot of weight and now have to redo my closet and was watching her line to catch her sale items, but her price increase has gone beyond my budget. By searching the local Boutique I wanted to purchase one of everything in the store and at the difference in the price of the Boutique and HSN Marla Wynne it would be possible.
I have noticed a lot of price increases in other areas that has limited me in my HSN purchases. My purchases are now limited and I now second ask myself if I really need or want an items, as before I would just order an item.
