I love Slinky brand, but here is a question.
I adore Slinky Brand! The fit is very forgiving. I especially loved last season’s Ponte Draped-Lapel Jackets. Are there no more Draped-Lapel Jackets? I would love to see them return in solid colors, like navy, black and brown. Also, I prefer the look of a long sleeve. The 3/4 sleeves are just not as flattering. Yet, that seems to be the only choice in Slinky Brand these days.
Lastly, the recent large scale flower prints are very taste-specific. Am I the only one who wants solids, small-scale prints and clothing without "bling"? How about a more conservative line for those who also want the comfort of slinky in career-wear or simple elegance? I appreciate a black jacket with sequins for special events, but these should be accents, not staples. Thanks for the forum!
Thank you for bringing this up. I would love a two piece outfit with a skirt. Last week she had a beautiful outfit for a Today’s Special, but with pants, yes PANTS, not pant. I loved the top, but I can not wear those pants they bunch up between my legs, not a pretty sight. I do not wear prints on top, all solid tops, jackets etc. Slinky is taking over Carolyn Struass with the flowers. I loved CSC’s clothes but no flowers. I and one of my co-workers bought many of her clothing, but Carolyn did not see a flower she did not like. I got a few pieces of her last offerings. Maybe Slinky will heed my cry and yours. Be well, Luelue
A trainer sounds great. Problem is that I am not yet ready. I keep looking at the advertisement to join the gym and its affordable. I think I can swing a few trainer sessions. What an inspiring story as I thank you for sharing. It gave me some hope yet. I am still battling pain but once that is under control I will be relieved. I have a great doctor and we are trying different meds. I refuse any of the stronger ones that are just addictive and will kill my liver. Lately I tried a muscle relaxant and slept almost 20 hrs. Crazy!! Just woke up to let the dog out twice. Recovery is a long process and frustrating because I was always super active. I guess there’s days I want to just eat and watch tv..HSN of course!! But thanks again for sharing. Its probably the best advice I have heard for a year now.??
Trip away??!! Thanks for the advice Maasha. I am already in the small. Xtra small has a very tight elastic and goes as high. I just buy leggings at K store. They are cheap and fit ok on the waist. I am between sizes with fluctuations in weight now so I am sworn off clothes for now. I got sick and also had a car accident..not my fault. So with all that going on I don’t go out much. I need to built up my strength again. But I still buy my M. Asam skincare …love it. Also tried Elysee on a fluke sale which sold out quickly. Also just got violife toothbrushes. I also got a gazelle…used for 20 bucks…yeah I lucked out. There’s tons of used fitness equipment people sell for nothing that were hundreds of dollars. I have yet to get on it but it looks good in my little house standing against the wall…funny! Have you ever tried M. Asam?? I am not good at advice on clothes since my fashion style is non existent really and has not changed much since I was 20. I still love my jeans and boots. Dressing up for me is replacing a t-shirt with a blouse. I didn’t expose my health for any pity but just being candid about why I really am not a fashion maven nowadays and kind of never was unless I had a party or wedding or special event where I would wear a dress or skirt. I kept all my more formal clothes and if I need to can still wear them. Black basics never go out of style. Boring yes as Iman says its better to wear color as you age because it makes you look younger. Basic black is my favorite besides grey and pink. I wear a ton of Mickey mouse t shirts cause I like them. Whenever I see one I don’t have its a must. Even when I and if I get to 70 I will still wear Mickey and Minnie and chuckle.
You are one of the most confident people in the HSN Community. Remember I’ve been reading
and responding to your stuff for at least 10 years. You make the Best Threads that draws people
in. Plus I like the fact you don’t give a hoot what people think. I always wanted to tell you that:heart:
PS. Maasha …embrace your curves. Don’t put yourself down. From your posts you seem so down to earth, intelligent and have a beautiful heart.
Awesome Maasha! I do love my one slinky outfit and its super comfortable. I also have a dress that I love. I hope you got the new style. I was wanting the one with flowers and animal print with black pants. Maybe I should have got it ??. There’s a ton of slinky here in the outlet. I wear my slinky in the summer months and its great for errands and every day comfort. The pants do come up under my bra so I have stayed away from them. I have a weird body cause everything on the bottom from HSN comes up way too high and it looks silly on me. With slinky I roll the pants over. Oh well. I am stuck buying pants from places that offer low rise because they fit right at my waist. I suffer because my choices for bottoms in any clothes are limited. Crazy right?
The umpire waist Ts made some models looked like they were showing maternity clothes. If you have a little bit of a tummy it does glide over but you sure do look pregnant. I wore that style a long time ago. Now I don’t have a perfectly flat tummy and was asked if I was pregnant. I lost about 30 pounds already but I shudder to wear that style. I remember my mother wearing that style when she was pregnant over 40 yrs ago.
i liked slinky last shows on all those lovely outfits i wish she would botlh type sleeve. I have never seen so mant nice patterns to please everyone NETTEA 11;48 2/7/2015
When I see long sleeve I pass. No matter what brand, they all come midway down my hand and some fabrics do not stay up when pushed up. Bad enough I have to deal with long pants when petites not offered – do not want to have to alter top and bottom.
I like the 3/4 sleeves for a completely different reason than most people. I am even a bit short for petites. I recently ordered a Liz Lange dress in petite with ruched 3/4 sleeves. I love the dress but it almost touches the floor and the sleeves come below my wrists.
BTW I’m not sure how having 3/4 sleeves would make your arms look longer. One of the pieces of advice for petite women to look taller is to have no change of color across the outfit as that makes you look shorter. Also 3/4 sleeves are supposed to have a slimming effect because the color doesn’t continue across such a wide portion of your body.
I agree- Solids also offer several options- THAT BLING shows better with solids.
My take is Slinky still has a fine and solid reputation. I was looking at the everyday classic designs by Marla Wynn I would say if the 2 lines were to meet it would be magic-
I am not against 3/4th sleeves but it seems every designer has made this a must have. As for the sequin’s I am hoping they will hide out in the closet until next holiday-Always buy a few sequined scarves if you need to add some sparke or you are going to a club-
With a nice shell top, toss a fun or fun classic jacket over it and with the right jewelry your always in style. I see alot of great Summer jackets ,chiffon or lighter wieght that are going to be great for Spring.
I think the bling clothing is ok but I always take a second look at a solid, and classic design.
Always wear what makes you happy and what makes you feel happy .
I prefer solids with little or no bling and 3/4 sleeves during cooler months so that I can wear loads of Heidi Daus, Carol Brodie, Studio Barse, Chaco Canyon and other jewelry. Bracelets are much easier for me to wear with the 3/4 sleeves.
My response will not post. Solid quilting.
