I just got censored for writing a real review.
This company has violated my first amendment rights by censoring a review I wrote about Nina Leonard pants. Item 893-633. So I will attempt to write it here. The petite pants are too long for a 5’4″ person. The waistband which is a waste must be doubled over for correct length and this waistband is cut too short. Pants too long. Waistband too short. And after doubling over, the pockets are too high on the hip. That being said, I remember when I got censored for saying that a Tony Little foot cream smelled like Bengay. Your guidelines are ridiculous. You know who you should censor, HSN? You should censor every host and every vendor who tells lies about some of the products you sell. Most of the stuff they say are half-truths or at best high exaggerated jabberwocky. I would like to extend an invitation to you to tell me why my review of the NL pants has not been posted.
-
perhaps it was by your own doing maybe you didnt respond to the re captcha ? or said a bad word because your complaint about the pants is no big deal and they posted it!
-
no one listens or refers our complaints to the vendor. I have been complaining about dg2 increasing their back rises on small sizes 2 to 16 and 16 1/2 and more. IT seems the more I complain the higher they get. My advice is, let it go cause no one cares as long as it sells.

I want to make a statement about Giuliana’s lamb leather coats…are you kidding me?? Killing baby sheep to make jackets! I’ll NEVER buy anything from her again!

At least you all can ACTUALLY WRITE a review. For the last YEAR, I have not been able to, as the character count that tells you how long the text is always stays at zero, yet when I am finished and click submit, it says my review is too long. So I don’t bother. Customer service has told me basically that what I am telling them never happened and there’s no problem with the system. WHATEVER. Go ahead, call me a li-ar . I’ve pretty much weaned off of buying. Not even ten items in the past month – I haven’t done THAT in, well, EVER. That’s what happens when I can’t watch the horrible new and newish hosts. Saves me a Crapton of money!

Ebony, you did not say anything bad. As a matter of fact, I find the things that you said about the Nina Leopard pants quite constructive as I am 5’2″ myself. Petite does not sound like petite. Your review gives someone else an idea of what might or might not fit. Somebody else who is a regular size and not a petite might find that the regular is too long & might be able to exchange the regular for the petite and find a perfect fit due to reading your very detailed review. Guess HSN did not think of that? And as far as Tony Little’s foot cream, do you think that you might have got censored for mentioning a brand name? I tried to post a review a couple of times (a long time ago) and I had to rewrite it because of something similar to that. (Sorry …. don’t ask ………. I honestly can’t remember what I did against the guidelines. However, after rewriting the review, it was published). I do understand your frustration! I rather like your review in regard to the pants because it gives one an idea of what the sizing actually is. Thank you.

I’ve purchased several pair of pants from DG2 in the last six mos and none of the had a smell to them. It’s the ones I purchased before that that occasionally had an odor. I appreciate Sam and the info he shares. He may get a little punchy at times, but his schedule is crazy and he is nearly always there and available, and he tries very hard to make clothing that people want. Thank you Sam!!

I guess everyone has different expectations mine are a little higher.

MY REVIEWS ON HSN IF NEGATIVE AGAINST DG2 WRITTEN WITHIN THE GUIDELINES ARE NOT BEING POSTED. HSN IS PROTECTING DG2 FROM HAVING HONEST NEGATIVE 1 STAR REVIEWS. HER JEANS ARE GETTING CHEAPLY MADE WITH TONS OF FERMADAHYDE IN THE JEAN, YOU CANNOT EVEN WASH IT OUT IT IS THAT BAD THE SMELL STAYS IN THE JEANS WASH AFTER WASH AND IS GOING INTO OUR SKIN. IT IS HORRIBLE.
I PURCHASED SEVERAL PAIRS OF HER KNIT DENIM WHICH I PURCHASED TWO YEARS AGO THEY WERE GREAT NO SMELL AND FIT BEAUTIFULLY. THE ONES I JUST PURCHASED ARE HORRIBLE THE KNIT IS NOT 1/2 AS SOFT AND THE SLITS AT THE ANKLE ARE SLOPPY LOOKING THE MATERIAL IS DIFFERENT THE DARTS AT THE BELLY ARE TERRIBLE THE KNIT JEAN IS A TOTAL MESS LIKE A LOT OF DG2 PRODUCTS ALL MADE IN CHINA. IF THEY PAY 2 DOLLARS PER ITEM IT IS A LOT YET WE PAY 67 OR 75 FOR CHEAP FERMALDYHDE CLOTHING. SCRATCHY TOPS SAM IS ANNOYING AS EVER DURING HIS LAST PRESENTATION OF DG2 TSV ALL HE KEPT SAYING WAS HSN SHOULD HAVE ORDERED MORE PUSHING FOR DIANE MAKING EVEN MORE MONEY IT WAS A TOTAL DISGRACE SHAME ON THESE ELITIST PEOPLE WHO THINK THEIR CUSTOMERS ARE DUMB.-
Angie, thank you. The smell to me has always been on every pair of DG2 jeans I have gotten for many years. I wash each pair about 8 times before wearing and the smell is still there on the last two pairs. Just faintly. I really like the fit of the last ones I got but the smell if it is formaldehyde is gross. Yuck.

Reviews and forums are not the same thing. Forums can be moderated or removed.
Reviews are a customer’s experience of a purchased item. -
Thank you, Ennui. If that were true no one could be sued for libel.
-
@ebony46, your review is posted. I saw it yesterday and it’s still showing.

This is so ridiculous to have to make a customer jump thru HOOPS in order to express their opinion or point of view.

Freedom Forum is not the Constitution. Companies limit customer comments all the time.
If HSN really wanted to limit comments, they would eliminate this forum. They are not required to offer community forums.-
They do limit reviews if it is within the guidelines and it is too negative it will not appear. They will show some negative reviews, but they do not print all of them especially for DG2 jeans they want them to be sold.

The First Amendment applies to the government, not companies. This is HSN’s sandbox, they make the rules.

Dear ennui,
“Companies cannot legally censor your opinion of their products. The first amendment protects your right to free speech, which includes the ability to express your opinions about a company’s product or services. However, companies can impose non-disparagement clauses in their contracts or terms of use which limit a customer’s right to comment on social media sites. These clauses may limit a customer’s right to comment, even if the comment is truthful and accurate.
It is important to note that while companies can have such clauses, they cannot legally restrict your ability to share your opinion online. if you believe that a company is violating your right to free speech, you can take legal action to challenge the company’s actions.”This excerpt’s taken from Freedom Forum.

Thank you for clarifying it helps to understand what they can and can’t do.

On their website , they can control what they want. It is a private company. They can not control what you write or say elsewhere.
