After seeing yesterday’s shows, I ordered 4colors in the Capris. I hope they fit. Just a thought….why not have a quality control person measure each size as the total quantity is done and assign the appropriate size to the batch. Then it would get some consistency between the colors. I agree about the flowing tops. I have so many of your older more fitted ones that are still wonderful . I find I spend less on your line now in every area other than I LOVE THE SUPERSTRETCH AND THE LITE, too. Congrats on that.
Hope I’m not too late for the conversation.
I bought 3 pairs of the capris yesterday. Chambray, light orange and beige. Last year I bought 3 pair of the city shorts and absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Cannot wait to get these capris.
Anyway, for resort styling I’d start with the beige pair. I have a pair of animal print wedge sandals that I’d wear with them along with that gorgeous coral/orange DG2 top I bought last year (I think it’s the oversized kimono tee) with a beige tank underneath.
Add in my new Heidi Daus 3 piece bangle collection and matching earrings and I’d be good to go!
What top is the model in orange currently on air wearing?
I’ve bought many of your clothes for quite a few years. I used to really look forward to your every show. I’m not sure what changed, but I can tell you why I buy alot fewer of your clothes now, and have moved on to other designers for the majority of my clothes. Almost all your tops now are over-sized which is not flattering on most of us. You used to design the cutest tops, that weren’t oversized. The jeans used to be made of the best material that held up for years. I’m still wearing jeans I bought over 5 years ago from you. They still look great. I could pretty much count on my size being accurate when I ordered so I rarely had to return something. The current quality of the jeans and the sizing is very hit and miss now. Along with lower quality came higher prices, so it started making less sense to buy. Some of the clothes stink of chemicals, especially the black colored ones, not sure how safe they are to wear. Have you considered just having the clothes made in the US so they don’t have to have chemicals put on them for shipping, and where you could probably get more consistent sizing and better quality. I also miss all the speciality jeans you would do, I have many pairs of those. It seems like they are offerred less often. It’s almost like someone else is designing your line now. I think you are naturally a great designer, but I haven’t been seeing that in your latest clothes. It just seems like somehow you got off track from what made you famous and the favorite of so many people. Since I know what you are capable of, I hope you return to the quality and design that made you such a success in the first place. I for one, miss that Diane Gilman, hoping she returns.
I am a boomer( size 12 but a 10 in your jeans) and we all are not built to accomodate the high rise of your jeans. I would love to buy more of your jeans but unfortunately, all except the pic stitch ones which have a shorter rise go well above my waist and are so very uncomfortable and the too high band rolls, digs into my skin and as a result I have an awful bulge from waist to bust. I know I am not the only one as several of my friends also have this problem with your jeans and would love more shorter rise options for most styles. I have ordered some but all either went back or just sat in my drawer because they were so uncomfortable to wear. Please consider those of us who need or prefer a shorter rise. I actually would like a rise even a bit shorter than the ones on the pick stitch. The ones I have with the shorter rise are so comfortable but you never have your most comfortable material availabe in anything but the really long rise. Please consider this request!
Hi Diane ,I love your design and color choice for all the jean & capri,
it would be so helpful if you can tell the size on each model and host that wear the pants so we can get an idea of the fitting, this will prevent more return to hsn, also the rising of the jean is so important to inform us.
I have to returned a few time because the rising is too hight up my waist, and too baggy on the leg,
does not look good and well fit as on the model, and I’m a size small 28 on a 7 for all mankind jean.
I would like to continue buying your jean & love the today special value capri ,but need to know the rising so I don’t have to return it! Thank you.
Love , love your clothes, but don’t like the sound of your earrings hitting your necklace, sounds like horses
This doesnt even have free shipping. Would cost over $50 I dont feel thats a good price for a TS on a pair of capris
Diane, I had to give in and buy two pairs – seriously they’re so cute. I hope they fit me this time.
I HAVE A REQUEST PLEASE: Diane, could you please make DENIM VESTS to match your jeans? I’ve been shopping for a vest, they’re expensive, and on top of that as I’m shopping on line I can’t figure out what size to get. I would love a DG2 denim vest that I can throw on over tshirts etc for that etc bit of cover up when I need it, but I also think they look great on. TKS!!!
a necessity for me with summer capris is a KILLER, dressy and expensive looking sandal. i tend to wear a somewhat neutral or pastel coloredl fitted/semi-fitted top with short sleeves over it. at night, if i am going out to eat or to a special occassion, i bring my pashmina with me. i love capris. they are so comfortable, stylish and ALWAYS APPROPRIATE summer staple. also, i must not forget coupling them with my heidi daus jewelry. the jewelry just takes the capris to a whole new level- along with my own self-confidence and self-esteem. again, i love getting dressed up for summer AND making capris look classy and elegant is another big reason for it!!! i love you diane!!! stay awesome and classically on trend, my friend!!! xoxo.
Diane, if you have capris as a TS this weekend I’m not buying!
Why? Because I bought 5 pairs of your last TS, I kept one and sent four back.
Why? Sizing! They were all the same size yet different colors had a 2.5 inch difference in waist size laying flat.
Why is that?
I’m not paying shipping costs anymore on inconsistant sizing. Even if the shipping was free on your item, I’m worried about ordering two sizes in order to get the right size, returning the other one and then HSN chalking up another return to me and banning me from shopping from their site. I know that happens and I don’t want it to be me as I enjoy shopping here, so I’m not risking it on your items anymore. Sorry!
Knit tops such as these are usually the types I veer toward when packing for a resort vacation. The pink top would also look good with a pair of black capris. I would still pack a couple basic tees/tanks. I prefer "dressy casual" in the evening, not ultra dressy, so capris and a dressier sandal are a good match to achieve that look.
Btw, HSN has several "Yellow Box" sandals that would look great with Diane’s capris!
I love capris because they are so versatile. I can start the day with a cute t-shirt, sandals,
flats, or tennis shoes. I can add a cardigan or blazer for afternoon activities. In the evening, switch to a pretty blouse, heeled sandals or pumps. My favorite is denim capris because one pair can go from day to night. Add some jewelry and I am all set.
I love your Super Stretch and absolutely love your skinny jeans. Never thought I could wear skinny jeans without looking like I am reliving my teen years. Your design is perfect. I wear DG denim- jeans, Bermuda shorts, or cuffed shorts every day. Thank you for giving us fashion and comfort.
I would not wear capris at a resort if they were denim. I have your denim shorts in many colors but here in Fl., the material is just too heavy. I save them for the winter and still find them too heavy. I prefer loose fiting clothes with flowing fabric for resort wear. Halter tops and dresses, sleeveless, backless, flowy, flowers. Loose. I probably would not wear capris in a resort unless I was going shopping for the clothing I described abovee.
Have stopped buying your BLACK denim jeans (or any black denim you have) because of the awful ODOR. Took a huge loss on three pair fancy jeans and jean jacket because I waited too long to return. Smell is awful. Have never seen this addressed by anyone in ”authority”, only customers who have tried this and that to remove the smell.
I also wouldl like more cotton ”hot weather” tops, your rayon spandex tops are too see through. yikes, no way am I wearing those.
Would like more basic shirts with open collars, not cut too low please! Also linen (100%) pants, regular length, and where o where is a 100% white linen shirt?? Have many of your linen sweaters from last season, love them, prefer 100% linen.
Would love for you to do fashion ”sneakers” or some other comfortable shoe for those of us who don’t ever do heels or wedges.
Thank you and have a great show! ps, I love to hear your ”stories” and advice on fashion..
