Fashion prices going up
Has anyone else noticed how expensive some of the fashion lines ( and jewelry lines) are becoming in price on HSN? I started buying years ago on these channels because they had lower prices due to just using warehouses and no brick and mortar stores. I was browsing Nordstrom online and the prices of many items are comprable. They used to be higher, plus you get free shipping and returns with Nordstrom. If you have a Nordstrom card you get a $20 note to use for every 1000 points. They have double and triple points day so you can rack up the coupons. I always check prices for Vince Camuto, Sam Edelman, Steve Madden, Donald Pliner, etc on Nordstrom, many times it’s the same or less with no shipping cost. Same with some clothes lines.
Guys, my last tip is to buy through the e-bates portal. They give you back a percentage on HSN and other purchases. (Around black Friday they gave back 7% on L&T, etc.!) You get a big fat check every quarter and a fre $10 Amazon gift card for buying and opening an account.
I agree with all you knowledgable ladies. the shipping is WAY too high. I can get free shipping from all the way around the world from China or from lots of e-bay clothing or Amazon. They shoul dhave free shipping over a certain dollar amount. WHY pay $8 shipping on one dress/item? I also try to wait for clearance. Also wish they would sell more mens’ clothing. Lastly, the Marla Wynne line is ridiculously high– $55 for a scarf and $50 for a tank top. What?
I USED TO BUY LOTS OF Dg2 and clothes but now I just buy Joan Boyce shoes. because I can get the exct same Rhonda Shear bras, etc. and tops from China for about 25% of the cost at HSN. Also, for high end stuff I go to Lord and Taylor on my block with coupons. Only clearance stuff is a bargain and often no sizes left or high shipping.
Quick. Quick. Hey are back again. Go fast. Let me know if u get them
I too have been a long, long time shopper at HSN. I got "hooked" on shopping here because the prices were unbeatable compared to the retail market. Not any more. In the past few years the retail stores have become very competitive and lowered prices because of the poor economy And you’re right. It seems that HSN has gone in the other direction. Perhaps they’ve expanded too much and have become a bit of a "Behemoth".When this company first started it didn’t have to support such a big infrastructure. If they could slim done , maybe they could go back to the great bargains they used to bring us back in the 1980’s. I don’t consider a $10 or $15 discount a "price break",especially now when so many people are struggling to make ends meet in today’s economy.
I’ve noticed, Diva! I find practically everything on HSN positively overpriced! Hence, I put stuff in my Favourites and wait for Clearance… unless it’s something I absolutely must have and know that the Sizes and Colours I need, and want, sell-out before they ever get to Clearance, *sigh*.
And, yes, it DOES pay to comparison shop. HSN’s Prices are too high, they don’t offer enough FlexPays, and the Shipping cost is ridiculous… especially when they charge you separate Shipping and then put everything in one bag or box. It grinds my gears to no end!
