Exploring the World of Leather Jackets: Tips, Trends, and Recommendations
I am excited to dive into the world of leather jackets and would love to hear from all the enthusiasts and experts here. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to leather jackets, your insights and experiences would be greatly appreciated! I’m interested in learning about the key factors to consider when buying a leather jacket, such as the different types of leather (e.g., cowhide, lambskin) and how they impact durability and comfort. Additionally, I’d love to hear about the latest trends and styles in leather jackets—are there specific designs or colors that are particularly popular right now? Tips on care and maintenance would also be great, especially advice on cleaning, conditioning, and storing leather jackets. If you’ve had any customizations or personalization done to your jackets, I’d be curious to know about those experiences and any creative ideas you might have. Lastly, if you have recommendations for quality brands or standout models, please share! I’m looking forward to your thoughts and advice. Let’s discuss and share our experiences to help each other find the perfect leather jacket!

I’m in my 70’s, perhaps that is why I am a leather snob. lol. Lamb leather. No faux. Dont know if these companies are still in business. covington classic leather blazer. black. Been wearing it for 30years. Spent a fortune on it as it was petite & fits beautifully. great grandpa worked in a tanning factory & he taught me how to care for leather. wipe asap if it gets wet. No chemical dry cleaning. Only twice have I used old fashioned paste wax on it when it showed a bit of wear. did air it out in garage t rid of odor of shoe paste. Braefair white pearlized leather trench coat about as old. classic. Gorgeous. Around buttons is rim of gold leather. Compliments every time I wear it. Only cleaned once with clear shoe polish. Iman offered gorgeous moto, but longer pastel suede jackets years ago. Oh my, I purchased lavender, pale green, cream & pink!!! gorgeous jackets perfect for me as sleeves are fabric so I hemmed them. Most important to me is fit. Have a long red Charles Klein gloveskin leather coat. (actually put a black diamond mink coat on layaway-a worthy splurge, when I purchased the red coat) _ Red coat had huge shoulder pads that I eventually removed, but it is a head turner, even with large collar. I would never purchase cowhide, or inferior leather as it gets stiff. Had 2 & tossed. Timeless as you stated. two young neices borrow them!! I store my leathers in a cold room in my basement in cloth, not plastic garment bags so they can breathe as Polish great grandpa said!! He enjoyed inspecting them for quality, & was joyous when he would give approval stating I had learned all he taught me. Interestingly pretty much it was all about feel & checking for imperfections. ie thin spots. Ha I am still wearing leather & suede skirts from long ago, as like leather shoes, they sorta mold to your body. I have ordered several supposedly designer faux leather items but returned all. I think its the feel………..ha ha.

been a fan of leather: jackets, coats, gloves, tops, skirts, pants , and dresses. That includes some faux leather. The real thing is timeless, but newer faux items are fine. Pick out some and get ready for compliments.

Thanks for sharing! I completely agree—leather items, whether real or faux, offer such a classic and versatile look. I love how real leather has that timeless quality, but newer faux options have definitely come a long way and can be just as stylish. Picking out some pieces that blend both types of leather can really elevate your wardrobe and keep you turning heads. Enjoy the compliments!
