dooney quality vs patricia nash
hello, i am trying to decide between getting a dooney or a patricia nash bag. i have one of each currently, but the nash one is one of her less expensive ones so its kind of hard to compare.
i was wondering if any of you have both brands and can tell me if there is a difference in quality between them ?
thanks in advance

I have multiple of both and while I like them all, I think the Dooney is constructed better overall. I know Dooney has a variety of materials, mine are leather and the quality of Dooney will hold up longer than the Nash lines in my opinion.
-
I have a couple of both and I prefer Dooney as well. I just like the construction of it but in all honesty, the bags I have of both I find just too heavy to carry all day.

I agree Dooney is heavy and bulky I have several . i am using wristlets mostly Michael Kors is lightest so I use them now!!!

I bought two Patricia Nash bags when she debuted on HSN. One bag arrived with the part of the front embellishment (metal) rattling around the box. The strap on the other bag broke within the 30 days return period. What upset me was the fact that I wanted to keep both bags since they were sold out and send them to Patricia’s warehouse for repairs because we were told there is a warranty. Left numerous messages, no response. Finally, 3 weeks later they responded on social media. Unacceptable customer service and I sent the bags back to HSN for a full refund. I believe the quality is compromised for a TS and not the same as what is sold in department stores. Regardless, the lack of a timely response has soured me on the brand. I own many Dooneys and the quality is excellent. I love them and they last forever. My favorite are still my Coach bags but I do buy D&B if it catches my eye.

both lines are awesome… but way out of my league.
i know there is no more Joy sponsored products, but at least on clearance i could hope to obtain one. i didn’t know the last presentation of purses would be their last (Joy with Iman) and i didn’t buy one. so now i will have to find another means for a moderately priced purse/tote.
i would also like to see a nice, but moderately priced pilot case (under $50). i need one to go to my doctor’s appointments that would have a place for a cane or ease riding in/on a wheelchair. that would be a huge selling point with me.
Thank you!

Try Ebay or Amazon for the Joy / Iman handbags.

thank you ladies for your help. i will wait for dooneys spring line then.

Dooney and Bourke used to make a very wide range of really sharp looking, classic and modern, beautiful bags. I’m not liking what I’m seeing on Hsn. The bags look like typical old lady bags. U-G-L-Y.
Very disappointing. -
I have both brands bags (Dooney and Patricia nash bag). I many carry Dooney bag as it is less expensive and looks attractive, but for specific occasions, I used to carry Patricia nash bags
-
Both brands are expensive for the average person and I don’t think either is worth it. If I had to pick which one I liked best I would say D&B. I own several totes, wallets and 2 cross body bags. and a Signature tote I inherited from my MIL, it must be from the 90’s. I bought one PN bag when she was on Evine and I should have returned it. I kept it for a year and then donated it.

Dooney and burke reminds me of the old coach bags-very conservative..classic. i don’t love their bumpy leather look but i see it is high quality and i am a huge coach outlet buyer. i get great deals. sorry hsn
Patricia Nash looks gorgeous and very authentic but too pricey at this time for me. I like the carlos santana but i have so many cross bodies from previous years i haven’t bought yet but may try. i really like the patricia nash line but very pricey and i have tons of leather bags. -
I have been collecting Dooney for several years now and just started getting Patricia Nash. I love them both, but if I had to choose, I would pick Dooney. If you want a style that has been around for many years, try going to ILovedooney.com. You can get the older styles that have been around for many years for about $100 less especially when they have their sales and they have free shipping alot more. You need to act fast because some styles don’t last long before they are sold out.
The newer bags, I would get from HSN or QVC because the other site does not have the newer styles or newer colors.
Dooney owns the I love Dooney site, so they are not a fakes and you get the registeration card like you get when you buy at HSN, QVC, and other places.

I agree that Dooney is a much nicer bag. I have purchased both brands and the quality of the Dooney bags far surpasses the ones I have from Patricia Nash. Perhaps the ones she has in her store in Nashville are better than the mass produced ones for HSN and QVC. I don’t know. I do know that the quality of the leather and the construction of the Dooney bags seems better. As with most things, the particular bags you select depending on the type of leather used may also be a factor in the overall end result.
