Do you have a "uniform"?
I do. I think it simply evolved over time due to my sticking to black, navy and grey since I started in the workforce.
Currently, for casual, it’s black tank top with khaki shorts or Capri’s. Dresses are either black or mint green. Shoes coordinate as needed.
Fall, however, is where it becomes obvious:
Tops are ALWAYS black and ALWAYS cashmere. Doesn’t matter the style, they’re black cashmere.
Slacks or skirts are deep grey or deep navy. Jeans are indigo. Leggings are black.
SHoes are black pumps, navy pumps for work. Black flats, black knee boots, black shooties, black boots for casual.
Hoop earrings and a great ring OR a great bracelet, a fabulous scarf and bag. Never a necklace.
Every. Single. Day. LOLOLOL.
How about you? : )
I most definitely do! You can always find me in black and white! I love a good cozy sweater and denim. But when it comes to that color combo, you can find me in just about any piece as long as it’s those colors!
Are Pj’s a uniform? I work from home most days, so most days it is PJ’s. :womanhappy:
My main staples are jeans and tee shirts. I have a variety of styles of each. I also love to add layers, switch from sexy heels to riding boots and totally change up my jewelry. Sometimes I wear dresses and such, but most of the time I’m in jeans and a tee with some fun touches to jazz it up.
I feel my body type looks great in this and I can enjoy jewelry and bling while not feeling too dressed up. I do like blouses, but I have a LOT of trouble with the fit as to fit my bust I sometimes feel I’m swimming in them or they end up too tight there, especially with buttons. Tees work better on my shape and are easy care too.
Lately I’ve been working on an “at home” uniform of sorts to accomadate days when I will be home cleaning and will just pop out to get the mail, walk the dogs, etc. I’m loving slightly loose v neck t’s with fun sayings I wouldn’t normally wear out of the home and fitted sweats or yoga pants. I just don’t like wearing my “good clothes” when I’m splattering oil in the kitchen or scrubbing toilets. Yet, I’ve been relying on my PJ’s at home too much and it makes me feel less productive.
Spring – experimental
Summer – white, navy
Fall – gray, indigo denim
Winter – black, cashmere sweaters, great boots, leggings, mini skirts, Wolford stockings, leather, expensive accessories, minimal jewelry
I look best in classic styles with something edgy thrown in.
Oh, yes. I wear a plain T-shirt (usually black or navy blue) with pedal pushers (neutral shades).
Not that interesting–but my ballerina flats always are.
When I need to dress up a bit, I wear a plain T-shirt with a lightweight printed maxi-skirt.
I recently started wearing a bandana every day. I have lots of colors, and u can style them all different ways. Today I am wearing a white one as a bracelet.
In the workforce, I wore all black dress clothes w a blazer.
Y’all sound comfy in ur pjs, but I actually don’t own any! I sleep in athleisure wear.
When I was younger and out in the workforce, (about a million years ago! *lol*), my wardrobe consisted of Black, White, Red, and Camel… and always extremely understated gold and pearl jewelry.
Now that I’m retired, I have been ‘set free’. I hardly ever wear Black or Red anymore, (the corporate power colours, *lol*). Instead, I have a closet full of Pink, Blue, and Purple outfits. I still have a couple of Red outfits, but only wear them during the Christmas season, *lol*.
I have lately fallen in love with quite a few Beige/Ivory/Taupe outfits that are just adorable… lots of see-thru netting and crochet work… so romantic-looking.
My ‘Style’ has been freed as well. No more ‘standard conservative skirt, blouse, dress, jacket, and pumps’ for me! *lol* I’ve gone totally ‘casual elegance’.
Along with all this, my jewelry has changed too. While I still love, and wear, my gold, diamonds, and pearls, Heidi Daus has given me an expression of myself that had been dying to get out thru my entire ‘workforce’ career.
Of course, I also have all the matching handbags, shoes, boots, sandals, scarves, gloves, and outerwear to grace my new wardrobe colours and I love it… I just love all my stuff!
p.s. When it comes to ‘pajamas’, I only wear Vanity Fair’s Colortura Nightgowns… inexpensive, comes in a ton of colours, and has that all-important ‘slide’ factor. *lol*
I wear relaxed clothing most the time and I love nice pajamas. The styles of clothing I do like I have in a crazy amount of colors.Soft clothing is what I search for the most and it has to look nice and most all be comfortable.
Along with the others in PJs lol, I wear nightshirts and when its cold, flannel pajama bottoms! Doesnt matter the colors, usually something bright, not dark.
The only actual work uniform I wore was when I was 21 and drove a UPS truck…ugly brown! That job didnt last long LOL!
PJ w/ matching undies.. The undies have to match or I just feel strange. My hair is past my shoulders which means the tie has to match. There is my uniform.
Yes – it’s called pajamas!
? ? well covering myself with soft, fluffy kittens, might be better than cashmere, but black cashmere isn’t as high maintenance as a closet full of kittens.:catvery-happy: and only almost as much fun.
Spring and Summer Leggings and sandals
Fall and Winter Leggings and boots
Black and white. Miami is an extension of NYC:smileyvery-happy: Jeans – indigo, white. Ditto on the black cashmere, love winter white too!
? black cashmere…what’s not to like? i wear the exact same thing. exactly! except that i wear a lot of olive green, mint is good. but i wear a lot of olive. i wear solids. tons of black and gray. this is a great thread.
