Disappointed in Packaging for 478-802
I bought this adorable dress to wear for a special occasion on Sunday. The dress was shipped in a plastic bag and arrived in this condition. Even though the tag states machine washable, I am nervous to do so because of the tulle skirting. If this would have been packed with some tissue paper and in a box, it would have arrived in better condition. Very disappointed.
Joy manganos steamer would have straightened out those winkles quickly. I steam everything, no iron. Even Neiman Marcus will send you a wrinkled dress.
I contacted customer service and they waived the return shipping. I sent the dress back on Saturday. Thank you for your suggestions and support.
Southernlights, I hope that you had an amazing time yesterday celebrating your son’s accomplishments. :smileyhappy:
Have been thinking further about this….I absolutely love this dress. Unfortunately, the dry cleaner that I would trust with this dress might charge more than $20 where I live. They charge a fee plus a certain amount per pleat. The lifetime cost could be prohibitive!
This is terrible! I saw this dress presented on HSN and it was so beautiful. This looks like it was packed in a paper sack in a ball. I was going to recommend a steamer but see you’ve already tried that. HSN should offer to pay for what it takes to fix this item if anything will help. It reminds me of Rhonda Shear’s first try at the 2 padded camis TS that everyone had to send back because the padded bust were crushed and couldn’t be rounded back out to look right. That was the first item I had ever sent back. I also remember the first Iman 2 pk. of blouses with the necklace. They were packed where the necklace left an indentation in the blouses that couldn’t be removed easily. I am so sorry to see such a beautiful dress in such a mess. I hope something can be done to help salvage it.
I often wondered about HSN’s packaging. They never use boxes, to the best of my recollection. Uh – wrong! – there were some boxed items like mittens or something but that was the only thing I saw.
That wrinkling thing is why I very rarely get cotton items.
sorry, but this dress is hidious!!!! send it back,
Totally unacceptable for a $100+ dress. I don’t blame you for deciding to return it. I wouldn’t spend the $18 or more dollars to have it pressed by the dry cleaners.
Congratultions on your son’s graduation!!! Sounds like he’s a special young man…
What a big let down::womanfrustrated:
Maybe post your photo to the Customer Service would bring this matter to their attention:)
Good luck and take care:)
Peace and love:)
southernlights, I’m so sorry, the dress came this way. It really is a cute dress. Even if having a dry cleaner press it were an option given the time frame, you’d still have the issue of what would happen after you washed it. I think you’re wise to send it back.
Congratulations to your son on his graduation and high honors. Hope the day goes really well without anymore hitches to cause stress.
Sorry to hear, ?. I hope they learn from your post & correct the problem.
This is an important isssue for them. It could make people less likely to order clothes from them, and buy from stores instead.
That is the dress I was going to order for an important event I am going to in 10 days. Thank you for posting the photos. I am not able to run around town trying to get the dress pressed. I understand your frustration.
I am sending sincere congratulations on the honor your son has received. I hope everything went well for you and your family.
? Good idea posting a photo. I love your taste. HSN needs to give u some Spendable Kash or something to apologize for their outrageous packing error. I hope u can still enjoy your event today.
Do you have a steam fresh option on your clothes dryer? I use mine all the time to unwrinkle jeans, dresses, shirts and others. It’s a beautiful dress…love the color. I hope you can figure out a way to wear it tomorrow.
This dress was pennies from being $100.00 and the shipping is $8.23!!!! Yes, it should have been packed better. I00% cotton is hard to iron. I have to dampen my son’s shirts to get the wrinkles out and be careful that I don’t put more in everytime I change direction/position. I wonder how much a dry cleaner would charge to press it?
