DG2 – Rise TOO HIGH!
I have a few pair that have a slightly lower rise (still somewhat higher than I like but comfortable). She goes on and on about how she designs for boomers but I am one and everyone I know all think her jeans are way to mom jeanish unless you are way tall with a long torso!! On me they go halfway to my bra. 11 1/4" front rise and a nearly a 15" back rise is ridiculous! She uses tall young models that do not represent boomers in any way. Use real boomers with real issues that are not all tall and lean with long torsos. At least design some for us boomers who want/need a lower rise of 9-10". I am 5’4 1/2" but I have friends who are taller and need that lower rise.
I like the rise. I have long legs and a high waist and even though I am 5 4 the talls work the best for me. The only rise that didn’t work was the style with the slimming panel in the front because the rise wasn’t high enough on those and I sent them back. Each body is different. I will stick with DG2 for a long while.
Hello All :womanhappy: ….First, was happy w/DG2 10yrs, then unhappy, NOW, happy w/ONE newer superstretch skin jegg  #411-896 was $49.99 now $24.99–10 reviews, only 2 happy–me and! Age 47 (39 hyst-DONE meno) 4’8 92lbs. 34c/23/34–past was easy to find DG2 to fit! DID, AND LOVED ALL THE DIFF STYLES! LATELY, very diff. to find ‘ANY’ two pr. DG2 to fit SAME….let alone, FIT! Can’t speak for all, -reading reviews -lots unhappy! I must read reviews/size charts/scrutinize video– pray they will fit! Before, confident they would- mostly did, some had to alter, but didn’t care b/c style- exceptional! ….but lately, ‘expensive’ w/all ship fees!!! And frustr b/c ‘sizing issues’! THIS SHOULDN’T BE!!! I personally have problem when ‘maker’ (Diane) herself says order up/down! Levis to Versace–never SAY THIS!!!! ACCURATE MEAS/GARM CHART SHOULD ‘ALWAYS’ COINCIDE W/JEAN ITSELF! —PERIOD!!! Maybe, DG2 could add ‘slim cut’, or xxs/0/00. And, I think the ‘shorter’ petite ladies could use maybe 2-3in. LESS ‘LENGTH’ ON ‘BOOTCUT’-WE DON’T WANT TO *HAVE TO* WEAR 4-5IN WEDGE/HEELS…..ALL THE TIME!!! About the rise….I believe two things—depends on ‘shape’ ea indiv woman; and they’re ‘specific’ to ‘respective item number’ …..did I say that right? I like dg2 and I want dg2 to fix the problem of sizing…..she can do it…..did it for decade plus….
I am only 5ft3inches but the rise is too low. I stopped buying DG jeans because of this. Too uncomfortable on me.
Hah! I’m 5’2" and short-waisted, and I just returned two "Modern Boot Cut" jeans because the rise was too low. They literally would not stay up on me. Maybe it’s because I have a big booty. I think it’s all relative to your body shape. I do agree that most of these designers never have plus-sized or body-problematic models. Some of them are a little curvy, but remember, TV puts 10-15 pounds on everyone (which is why celebrities are so skinny when you meet them in person) so those curvy models are probably no more than a size L or 12-ish. I don’t think her jeans are "Mom-ish", they’re just straightforward and not trendy. I appreciate her efforts – nobody else is trying to accommodate those of us over 40 who aren’t quite ready for a polyester pull-ons (like Alfred Dunner, or something.)
Too low for me 😀
I’m also a Boomer, but tall with a long torso and long legs. I like the rise on DG2 jeans and prefer them to those that fall lower on the hips. I don’t care if they look "mom jeanish" as long as I’m comfortable and like the way they look on me.
