Comparing anuschka with sharif handpainted bags
Any of you Anuschka owners I’m wondering if you also own a Sharif handpainted bag. How do they compare? I’ve been using a handpainted Sharif for a month now and seems to be holding up well. I read you should treat these bags with some sort of protectant. Thanks for any info you can give me.
Today 11-19-2015 Evine has a beautiful Anuschka bag as a TS. Several choices for 1 style and it is 149 and some change. I like the tropical safari. Love them.
There IS no comparison. Anushka beats out Sharif hands down. The End. 🙂
Beautiful Metallic Mirror Blue Sharif Bag
Looks are deceiving. The blue straps are on there way to a pink color. :womansad:
Again, This bag has had minimal use.
Sharif Wallet – This is suppose to be a leather wallet.
Leather Tab fell off zipper guide – First Pic
Trim is falling apart on the sides – My fingers are holding the loose trim from the wallet because it is no longer part of the wallet. – Second pic
This wallet has had minimal use. You sure could not tell that by the way it is falling apart. :womansad:
Sharif High Tea Bag
The trim is falling apart. :womansad: This happened at the 6 month level with minimal use.
I am not familiar with Anuschka, but I have two Sharif hand painted bags that are fabulous. The leather is very soft and the handpainting is absolutely beautiful. That being said, I purchased a second bag as a gift that was exactly like one of my beloved bags, and it wasn’t nearly as nice. The hand painting was sloppy compared with my original bag. Since every one is hand painted, you will have variances between artists, and some are just better than others.
I just bought some Anuschka sandals and cannot wait to receive and wear them. They were half off.
Evine sent a coupon for 25.00 dollars off 75.00, and I used it. I love coupons that are not limiting! :womanvery-happy:
Friday, Oct 30-2015… I agree with others here—> when it comes to Handpainted Bags, there IS no comparison. Anuschka Bags leave the Sharif Bags in the dirt. Now, I have a few Sharif Bags that I love and use; but none of them are his Handpainted Bags. After buying both Handpainted Brands, I sent the Sharif one back and kept the Anuschka. It is, hands-down, FAR SUPERIOR to the Sharif in both QUALITY and, if you ask me, BEAUTY as well.
I’m a bit shocked at how many comments here, and reviews of Sharif’s handpainted bags have mentioned how poorly made they are: ripped seams, defective zippers, etc.
I have ordered from both companies, and returned my Sharif bags immediately. To me, there is no comparison between the finely detailed artwork produced by Anuschka, and the sloppy lines and smeared brushstrokes on so many Sharif bags.
Unfortunately for Sharif, had I never seen an Anuschka bag, my opinion would not be as harsh.
I have a couple of plain two-tone bags by Sharif that I adore and use often: quality leather, fine workmanship, terrific organization, lovely shapes, first class in every way.
But his painted bags are another story. The fine lines that outline every petal of a flower or a feather or a bird’s wing on an Anuschka bag–often in shimmering gold paint, make the Sharif artwork look, well, mushy and lacking definition and quality.
I realize the styles are different, and perhaps some prefer Sharif’s blurry lines as impressionistic; but in my opinion, they look quckly and sloppily done, and my preference is for the impeccable designs and details of Anuschka.
Watch videos (on Evine and U Tube) of the intricate processes that go into selecting, cutting, sewing and painting the leather for Anuschka bags, and you will be amazed at their standards. There are a number of unique signiture themes/styles that are distinct to Anuschka, easily discernable and appearing on their bags for years.
No accusations, but I am sure you can fill in the blanks, and in more than a few bags.
Anuschka does one thing, and does it perfectly. Sharif is an amazing talent, but perhaps he should remove a few items from his resume.
By the way, Anuschka bags are made in India, I read the info about many of Sharif’s painted bags and their country of origin is listed as "imported."
I’ve seen that before on some garments offered for sale by other manufacturers and I always wonder why they won’t tell us.
I’ve never had either, but I think Sharif is much prettier. I’ve recently been looking at Sharif bags … trying to select one. – But Maybe Not!
I have six Anuschka bags and three painted Sharif bags. The Sharif bags which I got on discount this spring are primarily Christmas theme bags and one Peacock motif. I also purchased additional Sharif bags as gifts and my one friend has used hers about 4 months without any problems. The Anuschka bags are superior quality, with the leather being higher quality and the painting more detailed and much better done. However they do cost a bit more if you buy the Sharif bags on sale. I wore my Sharif peacock bag for about a month this summer but found that the handle is already coming unstitched. One of my Anuschka bags which has a darker blue background has the color wearing off after very light use so I will not purchase that color again. I do treat my bags with the Anuschka recommended water proofing product as it does extent their wear time. My oldest Anuschka bag is about 6 years old and does show wear but still looks nice enough to use a little longer.
I don´t have any Anuschka bags but I have Sharif & I´m disappointed. I have a beautiful blue bag & the lining shredded after three days, unfortunately it was too late to return it. I have a couple more & they did not hold up very well. I´ve stopped buying them.
There is no comparison. Sharif bags have no quality.
I have a blue Sharif bag that the handles are now turning pink.
I have a black Sharif leather wallet that is falling apart.
I have a leather blue/black Sharif bag that is falling apart.
The other Sharif purses that I ordered fell apart before the 30 days and were returned. The Sharif items that I have now started falling apart at the 6 month level with limited use. This lady is not happy with Sharif . I threw away more than 200 dollars in the trash on Sharif. He has wonderful designs, but there is no quality in his products. I learned my lesson the expensive way. I am embarrassed to take Sharif products in public.
I have an Anuschka purse and wallet. The leather is buttery soft. I will be adding more Anuschka bags to my new found collection.
I am such a huge Anuschka fan. I have 5 of their handbags. They are handpainted. It gives them such a beautiful authenticity. I haven’t been as attracted to Sharif bags I have treated them with spray that you can get for Anuschka but I presume that it can be used for Sharif as well. Some ladies have come into my office with very well aged Anuschka bags that they did not treat and they are still very lovely. I just feel better treating them if nothing else than to give them some protection from weather. I know I couldn’t thouroughly answer you question but I hope I helped a littel :womanhappy:
