Clothes and shipping issues.
If you spend $25 shipping for over $500 in clothes it should not be caught up in packaging for a week. HSN is so poorly run now. I only buy Marla Wynn now as all my other favorites have disappeared. Buyer beware now.
I have a feeling brick and mortar stores will make a come back. People like to try on, touch, feel, smell before handing over their hard earned cash. I know we’re in the digital age and it’s the way a certain demographic prefers to do things but I think once they realize how much money they are losing as retirement looms around the corner they will change their habits.
I feel the same ladies paying shipping for the products each of the same items … just not worth your pennies here anymore it adds up way to fast ! I also hate to say goodbye to HSN shipping is a mess and making it easier for me to let go all the extra cost . The time it takes to get the orders is crazy the items that I return after I see them …not worth it for exchange most of the time . I am so tired of waiting to find out what shape the merchandise will be in after waiting so long to see it . They will lose a lot of customers sooner than later with all these problems .
I seldom order clothing or shoes online but I saw a pair of shoes on QVC that I liked at a great price so I ordered.In the description it stated the sizes ran small and to order up a size.I did that and the shoe was much to big.My regular size would have been fine.So I used the return label and stated the reason for my return and the sizing choice being wrong due to following THEIR description and ask I not be charged shipping.
They still deducted the shipping from my refund so that will be my last order of that type from QVC…Who wants to pay $7-$8 and get nothing.Had I just not liked the shoes,etc then yes I would understand the return cost being my responsibility.There are many items on HSN and QVC that I would like to order but don’t for reasons such as this.
I’ve had a gripe about shipping since I started shopping HSN about 4 years ago. I’m in the SF Bay Area and a lot of the stuff ships out of VA. However, sometimes it ships from within CA, but still manages to take up to 10 calendar days. They estimate arrival in 3-7 BUSINESS days, which often translates to 10 calendar days, but it’s as if they want to make sure it arrives on the last possible day. Every now and then something will come within 3 days, but it’s very rare. At least they are faster than QVC in processing returns. QVC says to allow up to 11 days once they have received a return for it to be processed. HSN seems to process it within 2 or 3 days.
We are now back to the original ownership of HSN. These are the same people who loved HSN until one day they started a new shopping channel called QVC. Then the inevitable happened. HSN went down the tubes and QVC became the better channel. That is, until Barry Diller decided to give it a try and bought HSN just before they totally went under. I surmise the deal was so good that Barry Diller said goodbye and crossed his fingers that HSN would continue to do great. As we all can see, it will be another matter of time before it happens again unless this ownership wakes up and starts listening to their customers.
I, for one was shocked when following a recent order noticed that the post office returned it to sender because the address was incorrect. Someone had changed my street number and It wasn’t done on my part because the day before a package arrived in my mailbox. Correct address. Go figure. Of course I contacted Customer Service and they were kind enough to resubmit my order.
I also noticed that the Quality Control Department are really not checking the items. Time and time again, some jewelry pieces are broken, discolored gemstones, broken clasp or a clasp that does not work. I really do not like returning items. But, if it isn’t sewn right, wrinkle free, broken, what’s a gal to do??? And, the other side, if you return too many items then you risk the chance of receiving a letter of sorts from the company. Evidently the company does not read the reasons behind the return and say it’s the customers fault. I would think they would want to keep the customer base, especially after spending billions of dollars for the company. I surmise that is why we have seen such an increase in price and shipping. They probably figured the increase would help retrieve part of their cost. HSN customers are not foolish. They are smart shoppers and will eventually go elsewhere to save their pennies along with the cost of shipping.
I haven’t stopped shopping with HSN. I just purchase less. I’ve been with this company almost from the beginning. I definitely will find it difficult to say goodbye . Someday, in the future, I may have to.
After being an HSN customer for close to 30 years I feel the same way as you do. I bought so many things last week and they arrived yesterday. They looked terrible. I sent 90% back. My husband just shook his head and said,”don”t you think its time to move on from HSN?” I guess its hard to give up something you use to enjoy so very much, but is no longer the same. It’s like saying goodbye to an old friend. However when that friend starts treating you badly, you know its time to part ways. So goodbye my old pal.
@jadiva, I totally agree with you. I have a Colleen Lopez denim jacket in the process of packaging for 5 days now. A monkey could do a faster job. Also, the discounts are getting less and less…like QVC. I think it has become poorly run also.
The shipping really adds up I try hard not to buy at full price wait for a clearance and get the free shipping if you spend over a certain amount. I just received an order yesterday I pulled out a jacket and said to my self I don’t remember ordering this it’s just not my style put it on and it was huge, I was sent the jacket instead of a top. Back it goes. I also ordered two VC pieces the pants were packaged in a crinkled bag and they are so wrinkled they are going back the top just not feeling it so they are going back they were not clearance I had to pay shipping for both that came in one package. I’m really disillusioned with HSN after shopping here for over 30 years.
