BEWARE! HSN policy is not to take responsibility for….
Hsn does not take responsibility for packages delivered by UPS and left on your doorstep. A package was allegedly left on my doorstep by UPS which I never received. I contacted HSN and informed them I never received the package. The representative agreed to resend the order with 3 of the 4 items ( one was out of stock) while they do an investigation on the package. I received the 3 items and was told by the representative I would be billed only for the 3 items. Recently I received a letter stating they had finished their investigation and determined the package had been delivered. I contacted HSN and was told by the representative that I would only be billed for the items I received; she would take care of it. I have now received a second letter and again I called HSN and this time I was told if I disagreed with HSN conclusion I should take it up with UPS or I will be billed for the missing package and the replacement package. I spoke to a representative and then a senior account specialist named Brian. Brian promptly gave me the telephone number to UPS and told me it was between me and UPS since the investigation concluded the package was delivered. HSN takes no responsibility. So I had to spend the morning trying to get through to UPS to argue about the investigation and the package delivery so I won’t be double billed by HSN. Can you believe this!!! It should be between HSN and UPS. Why should I have to fight with UPS. ONLY HSN. I will let you know the conclusion. Anyone one else had this problem?
In all honesty, how is it either UPS or HSN’s fault if someone stole it from your doorstep? It stinks that it was stolen, but I don’t see how either of them can be held responsible. They did their part of the job – getting the package delivered. If people are stealing them and you don’t have a safe secluded spot for the delivery person to leave the packages, that’s on you. You can request that UPS leaves your packages in a certain spot and they are very good about it.
I get both sides of this situation. If the package shows delivered, I can see why HSN said it’s between you and UPS. However, with the abundance of porch pirates across America, this is becoming a big problem along with drivers delivering to the wrong address. I do know that UPS has GPS on their trucks and scanners. They can pull the info and see exactly where the driver was at when they delivered package. Rather than pay again, I would contact UPS. I believe the 800 number is outsourced so I’d call UPS corporate relations in Atlanta, GA. I had to contact them myself about a similar situation with a Tiffany Lamp. I was in a panic. UPS 800 number said it was delivered and blew me off. UPS Corporate Relations got involved. My lamp was delivered to the wrong house. I was relieved when it finally reached my doorstep. Good luck!
I had that issue with QVC and the post office. I hardly ever shop at QVC but their gold specials draw me in sometimes and I give in. I had purchased some expensive gold earrings one summer for my birthday and the tracking said they were delivered! They were not! My husband asked the mailman and he said he did not recall delivering a package from QVC. We checked with neighbors too who have been honest in the past and brought us mail accidentally delivered to them. My husband called QVC and they said they would re-order it for me and if it wasn’t available after the waitlist period, they would credit me. Meanwhile we were supposed to check with the post office and hubby went there with the tracking info to find out what happened. While talking to someone there, mysteriously the tracking info disappeared from their computers. People in line were even getting mad and demanding to know what happened to our package! Post office never “found” it and I know there is some woman here where I live enjoying MY expensive birthday gift to myself! I know someone at the actual post office stole it and was probably there when my hubby was to know to delete all info from their system! QVC was very good about it and credited our account when the earrings were not available anymore from waitlist. As much as I don’t like shopping from QVC, they handled this situation correctly, as they should have and as they promised. I am most appreciative for that. HSN used to do the same, I guess they have changed their policy? They shouldn’t have promised you one thing and done another. I would talk to the senior account officer’s supervisor and I would also talk with UPS. I hope you get this all resolved soon and I am sorry this has happened. Stolen packages happen all the time and unfortunately we have to deal with the disappointment when people don’t do the right thing. QVC used to have me sign for my package when expensive gold jewelry was delivered so I wasn’t expecting them to send it through the mail or not require someone be home to sign. Policies change I guess, but you should not be promised one thing and get something different. I wish you good luck resolving this. I would definitely call someone higher up at HSN.
