tracfone activation problems
I received my hsn tracfone lg stylo 3 with 1200 free minutes and one year of service and attempted to activate the phone with nothing but trouble. I went to activate.tracfone.com and entered my order number,zip code and hit activate and was bounced over to the tracfone site where I began the activation. I entered the imei and zip and the next window asked for a minute card pin or a credit card number. The 1200 minutes and free year of service did not show up and I could go no further with activation. I called tracfone and spoke to a representative and spent 30 minutes trying to get the phone activated. the minutes were not preloaded as claimed by hsn and the rep gave up and told me I had to call HSN to get the phone activated. I did that and the hsn rep said that hsn does not activate the phones and that the phone is shipped directly from a tracfone warehouse where it should have had the free service activated before it was shipped. Both parties pushed me off to the other party without either resolving the issue. Finally after calling hsn a second time, we are going to cross ship the lg phone with another phone from hsn and hope for the best. I followed the vague and scant instructions in the paperwork provided with the phone and was not successful. Has anyone successfully activated a phone and gotten their free year of minutes and service and if so, how did you do it? If it doesn’t work this time I’m going to return the second phone, give a really lousy review and go with another vendor.
Several months ago I purchased a LG Tracfone for my husband. In September we activated. He spoke with a rep who was able to transfer the minutes from his Samsung to my LG and asked to keep the same number that was on the Samsung. Though it took about 20 minutes, there were no problems. It always amazes me what this phone can do. Definitely get this resolves with a supervisor so you can begin enjoying your new “toy.”
Last night I tried to activate my new LG tracfone but after TWO AND A HALF HOURS and FOUR people, had no success. All I wanted to do was activate the new phone and transfer my number and minutes from my current tracfone. I have never had issues like this before with tracfone and am very upset. The last thing I was told was that my old phone was now de-activated, the sim card was expired and my phone number wasn’t in their system. I think that’s amazing since my old phone STILL works! Right now I can use the new phone for everything EXCEPT make or receive phone calls and texts. Ridiculous. I have a number that is supposed to take me directly to a supervisor who hopefully can straighten things out. We’ll see if that happens tonight. This is the first time I’ve purchased a tracfone through HSN and was not expecting to have any issues like this so I’m extremely disappointed. It’s my guess that the first person I spoke to at tracfone had no idea what they were doing and created this fiasco.
Pigpandi, exactly what did you do to get it to work, I tried online and a rep?
I always call tracfone for activation ,& tell them I purchased my phone from HSN with the amount of minutes included!They ask me for the MEID # & set it up! Some reps seem to know the set up process& some DON’T HAVE A CLUE. Maybe some aren’t trained properly! I hope you call back& get a rep who can assist you If not- ask for a supervisor!😊
You probably got a rep who didn’t know what they were doing I had no problem with getting my Samsung sky pro& MINUTES bundle activated-GOOD LUCK
