TCL 32" LED Smart HDTV
I know nothing about technology other than my desktop PC with a cable broadband internet connection. Before purchasing the abovementioned TV, I have a question, please, if someone could answer it. The description of the Smart TV mentions Wi-Fi and wireless router. I do not know what that is. I have one Comcast internet modem connection in the next room. Will this work? Or should I wait to purchase this item until I have different internet technology? Otherwise I will just be adding the TV to my pile of unused electronics underneath my computer table. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Wi-Fi enables devices to connect to the internet wirelessly and would allow your TV to stream programming such as Netflix. If you happen to locate the smart TV very near your current modem, it may have the right connection to allow a cord from the TV. (You’ll want to verify what jacks the TCL TV has to see if this is possible.)
For a Wifi Router, you could call your internet provider to see if they rent them or purchase your own — perhaps here at HSN or at an electronics store. You might expect to pay $70 for a standard unit.
‘Hope this helps.
