Weve NEVER EVER had a prob with hsn tracphonse, UNTIL, the LG optimus android. What a disaster, we never got the min with the phone, it does take the pre-paid cards, but thats what we got, now the phone wont charge and we only purchased this in March. No more.
Has anyone actually received TracFone minutes that match the minutes you had left on your TracFone when you purchased this phone?
I had recorded the HSN presentation and played it back and the vendor specifically said that for example, if you had 200 minutes left, they would give you an additional 200 minutes. I did not get my additional minutes matched. I called and tried to get them, but you have to leave a message and they call you back. They called back and left a voice mail, and only told me what I already knew that my minutes were transferred to my new phone and told how to check to see how many minutes I have left.
It is false advertising to say you’re going to have minutes matched in addition to what you had left and they don’t follow through. Not a good policy if you ask me.
I’m not giving up yet, but this is just another frustration with this purchase.
4kitties, I keep posting replies, but they disappear without posting. I’m trying again.
I believe the number Ryan gave is HSN’s to answer concerns over the TracFones purchased. TracFone’s number for issues is 1-800-867-7183.
Surprise! My LG Sunset is now working, but it took a whole lot of effort to get it up and running. I finally had to contact TracFone tech support where a patient Leonardo helped to resolve the glitches that kept occurring.
Now other problems I’m having are:
Can’t get the Google apps to work.
The 1200 minutes were not preprogrammed into the phone as stated in the instructions. I had to go back to the activation site to retrieve them.
The phone minutes and days I had left on my old phone were transferred over to the Android, but the minutes were NOT matched, as stated in the original HSN presentation. I recorded it and played it back to be sure. Now, I’m wondering how to obtain those minutes.
Any suggestions? Anyone else have these issues?
Well, it is now Saturday morning and my LG Sunset phone is still not set up. My old Tracfone was shutdown and the number transferred (supposedly) to the new phone, and now both phones are unusable. We finally gave up late last night after several tries to get the apps retrieved. It would only allow us to get so far. I can’t send the phone back because my phone number is on it now, so I’m stuck in the middle without a working phone. UGHHH!
I see why it’s called "Sunset," because if you start at Sunrise to get it working, it may be sunset before you’re actually finished.
Flyby thanks for replying to this thread. I still have not set up my phone…
So sorry you have had a bad experience trying to set yours up.
I think i am going to send mine back… Have enough going on in my life to have another stressful one added…
Am really thinking of getting the Jitterbug or Celular one which is guided more for seniors..
Ahhh, another reply lost in HSN space. I had a long rant regarding the awful, terrible, horrible, set-up process of this phone and it didn’t post. Ughhh! What a day!
I’ve spent an hour trying to get this LG Sunset phone set up on-line and via phone and was told they couldn’t complete the set-up process at this time. They gave a phone no. at HSN to call, but I couldn’t write it down they gave it faster than I could write.
My husband is going to help me later, and if he can’t get it going, then I’m going to pack it up and send it back. My cheap, basic Tracfone was much less of a hassle than this supposedly better phone.
I definitely would not recommend this phone, especially if you are technically challenged.
Was just checking on the protection plan for the LG phone… I did previously have it when i ordered the phone… I cancelled the plan because i was on the fence about sending it back…
I see now it is sold out.. Now i don’t know if i should keep the phone or not…
Did not activate it as i am not sure if it will work for me… Meaning seems too complicated and have so many things going on in my life now…
Well now i am really in a pickle as i would really need the plan if i decide to activate and keep…
Mine arrived on Thursday and I bought the 2yr protection plan just in cse. You couldn’t beat it for the price. This is my very first smart phone and totally Greek to me. I went for it because how much different could this phone be from my PC, right. I activated it over the phone Then followed the start up instructions that came with. Entered all my contact numbers and made some calls A friend who also owns an Android too came by last night and went over a few things with me and I’m glad I finally got one. The case that came with it won’t really protect the phone and I plan on buying one that will. In my books this was great promotional package and I’m so happy to have taken advantage of it. Thanks HSN!!!
Hi to all that replied… Wondering if i do decide to keep?
Did you also add on the Hsn 2 yr protection plan?
I did included it with the order.. However was getting cold feet and decided to cancel it.
Did speak to a C.S rep and he said no problem if i wanted to get it now?
Just wondering after reading the plan looked good if they do honor all that is checked off?
Am still on the fence… Did not open the Phone yet…
To add i was leaving a Walmart Super Center in my area… I saw a sign saying they had gotten this Phone..
I did not have time to go to there Electronic Dept to find out what they offer with this one?
Will be checking in a couple of days to find out…
Tried to get info on there Web-site but could not find this one…
Just wanted to share with you all..
Kittie if you see this please up-date me with what you are doing?:catlol:
Disgo, I bought the LG Sunset and after the presentation realized that it is very similar to a phone my husband bought on HSN a year ago for $250+. Only two things are different. He pays $40 a month for unlimited talk/text with Virgin Mobile and the camera feature has 8mp. He has had several issues with his phone, even though it cost more. He thinks I got a very good deal and I think he’s tempted to get one, too.
I haven’t set it up yet as I procrastinate when it comes to technical stuff. The older I get, the less I like to fool with details and manuals, etc. This time, I must bite the bullet and painstakingly go through all the features so I get my money’s worth.
I wish you well and completely understand your hesitation over the new phone. In no time, you will figure it out, I’m sure, and will be very happy you ventured out into a new realm of phone-dom. Enjoy!
Disgo..are you a long lost relative????:catlol:
I know I will have some issues with the Tracfone..since I don’t have Wifi in my house.
I too have old age vision issues..with this phone you can make the keyboard pretty big..I was using a slider Tracfone..with tiny screen and keys.:catembarrassed:
If you can also find the same operations..if you go to net10..and go to the buy a phone section..
Post back to let us know..
Hi 4 kitties, many thanks for your reply, and comments
My husband is picking it up later at our P.O…
UPS,delivered it yesterday to the wrong one!!
I am a bit nervous about using it.. As i may have mentioned i only use a basic Cell phone.. Only Electronic device is my Hp desk top Pc with key board and mouse…
With all the phones, ipads, iphones etc i am not caught up at all..
Who can keep up with all this.. Am an older Senior and frankly can’t be bothered with all this..
I recently decided to join the world and get something in adition..
Did not know if it will address all things i want to do on it.
Really need to study as you are doing.. To be honest i had my heart set on getting a tablet and still may do..
Unfortunetly it does not come with phone options..
To add i need a good size screen as my eyes are not the best…
Many thanks again… Will up-date later on..
I got my phone on Thurs. the 30th of July..
I’m so glad I’m not the only person out therer that’s "afraid" of new things..
My Honey wants nothing to do with it..LOL
Try going to:
deviceanywhere the usual before and after..It takes you to "NET 10"( part of Tracfone)..It’s the same phone..
I haven’t activated my phone yet..I’m just playing with the options right now.
Have your phone and sit and click on tabs on the left side of the page..You will learn alot!..
As I’ve said before I’m technology STU-PID…LOL
DISGO, can you be more specific with your operational questions. A smart phone like the LG is like using a tablet or touch screen computer, you use your finger or stylist. It’s a good phone for talk, text and pictures (LG is known for their high quality pictures) but be very careful with data. If I remember correctly that plan only included 1/2 GB data per month. That is the equivalent of play about 12 games of Tri Peaks Solitaire or Mahjongg Dimensions here at HSN. The data plan may meet your needs if you are just using it occasionally. Is it a good value? Meh, there are many cheaper smart phones if you are only going to use talk and text which usually come with unlimited talk/text.
Again, if you have specific operational questions just ask.
