HP VTech lifetime support
I was informed VTech support no longer supports my computer and in fact no longer is in business. Does anyone else have a problem with losing the lifetime support that was part of the HSN selling point of some of it’s HP computers. I bought mine less than a year ago because of the lifetime support. An HSN supervisor told me they are not responsible. Any one else have a problem with that???
I recently found out that I no longer have the lifetime tech support I purchased as part of a package — HP laptop, printer and tech support. I was never notified that VTech went out of business. When I could not reach VTech I called HSN and was told that HSN could not find another vendor to take over the lifetime tech support contract and Alorica was the best they could come up with. Alorica is not available 24/7. They are not available on weekends. They do not have remote access. VTech did have remote access…I used it once. AND, we cannot call them directly.
I think all involved should
— contact BBB and Department of Consumer Affairs
— tell our story on Yelp
— call the show regarding another HP product, then ask to go on air and then tell our story
— Last, but not least, I think we should look into a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!
Here’s the number I used about a month ago. They can’t do remote but they may be able to walk you through some issues. They helped me out after the MS update.
Monday – Friday 1pm – 9pm
No wonder, last summer I was on “hold” for 45 minutes!! No one has every called!!!
Horrible business practice. At least they should have given notice, so I wouldn’t be like a fool on line “holding” and having to pay some one to “fix” my pc problem. I will never ever believe them now when they say “Lifetime” baloney!!! Going back to Geek Squad. They are the best.
Bought a HP Laptop just over a year ago, it has stopped working. I called HSN and was told the very same thing, not supported by Vtech for my lifetime support. HSN did say my computer was out of manufacture warranty, so sorry about that.
A laptop that is less than 2 years old just died. It was a very cheap laptop, and it was extremely slow. Not sorry to see it go, not going to fix it either, lesson learned, going to to stick to my local venue and old faithful, APPLE products, never had any problems other than a software upgrade.
Hmm, depending on how long your warranty is for, it may still be covered by the brand you bought. ( HP, Dell…) I’d look into that too.
Basically, what you bought, was a disposable computer. I know because I got one too. The computer was bought for my 30th wedding anniversary and broke after 5 months. Went to call tech support, there wasn’t any. Thing is, you don’t know who’s at fault. HP, V-Tech or HSN. I saved my receipt and order form from my purchase too. After making a call, I’ll let you know who is at fault. Good luck.
Another ripped off HP buyer from HSN.
I too think the way this was handled was disgraceful, irresponsible, poor public relations and customer support. We purchase your products and the expectation is that you tand behindwhat you advertise and sell. To reocer form this fiasco, HSN should negotiate another Tech Support contract and /or refund or credit the consumers who purchssed the product. To not take any action further blemishes the reputation of HSN who did not comunicate the loss of technical suppot to those consumers who purchased the product. Any othet copany who provides tecg support will chargfe the individual for the needed repairs. Why shoud we have to pay for a service which was the responsibility of another buseness. How does HSN propose to recrify this matter? Will we bre informed well in advance ???? I am a long time consumer and I love you show but this incident musy be resolved sooner than later.
can someone inform me of the appropriate action i should take to be compensated having part of my hp computer product service no longer available
I have a Dell with the VTec lifetime support tried calling yesterday rang busy all day.
I also have bought a computer from HSN because of the lifetime support and after
computer issues, found out there is no support anymore. I finally heard from Tech support who only told me that I should try
HP to see if they can help.
I am applaud and very upset!!!
It is my understanding that QVC bought HSN and they are selling HP computers with lifetime tech. (E230625) Our purchases should be honored under the same plan or we should be compensated for outside computer service.
I will be contacting BBB to see what else can be done!!
I have a problem. I am boycotting HSN! it was one of the selling points for this laptop i have as well. Spoke with thier “new” tech team they dont even have remote assistance. Their tech support consists of them telling us what to do. What a joke! I really wish there were something else we as consumers can do outside of calling a consumer watch dog. let me know if you plan on doing anyting signing a petition or what not. I am in
Why are all of our questions not being answered regarding the Lifetime Support with V-Tech? There is no reason for this, and poor quality control on HSN’s part. I still have yet to receive a call, mail or any notification regarding this issue. We all bought these HP Computers for the same reason a Lifetime of Support that we are not getting and not getting a response regarding this is really making me mad now. Mine was bought as a gift for my Birthday-Christmas and they haven’t received a response either? We are to call the Tech Support that HSN has and for the hours of only 2pm – 8pm est this is unreal I sure hope that HSN makes this right for all of us customers that paid good hard earned money for these HP Computers. Hoping to hear from someone soon??? Thanks in advance
That is a main reason I bought fron HSN. I’m not good with computers so I need someone to ask questions And theses other people charge $79 no matter what you ask
Viper kind of same. Lifetime till they come up with new ones. I bought one couple weeks ago and now they have one with WiFi Something shady
I just randomly came across this while looking for another post. I purchased a laptop last year and the lifetime support was one of the biggest selling points for me. To know that the lifetime support partner is now out of business, and that I, a customer that purchased a laptop with this lifetime support, has not even been notified, is outrageous. I love ya, HSN, but I am really not happy right now. At all. I would like someone to contact me via my email address that is on my acct, please.
hsn_krissy, is this tech support for the HP Customers will this be going through HSN or another Company who specialize in Computers? I take it from your last comment that if we need to speak with our tech support partner that it would be who! Hsn or another Company Hope you can shed some light on this for me Thank you
