Hp 17" windows 10
I just received my HP 17 inch windows 10 laptop. I am having nothing but problems with it and the lifetime service support numbers that do not exist not or the other will never answer. With someone please tell me what to do. I am trying to get it back to factory settings and it won’t let me. Hard to believe Hsn would give out support numbers that do not exist. I cannot return it until I get my personal information erased hand the usual computer panel or control will not remove anything..
I ordered the same HP lap top and it too was not working properly. The first time I turned it on, the screen opened up with some sort of message about needing auto repair. It did repair itself but ran very slowly. I have several HP products that work great, but this lap top not so much. I returned it. Also I didn’t like Windows 10. Was going to upgrdae my desk top but decided against it.
I downloaded Windows 10 immediately. Big Mistake. I had to go back to Windows 8. What a mess. I could not get online. I was in airplane mode and could not get out of it. No Internet connection.
I did a restore, back in time. I still had programs missing after it was all said and done.
I bought this item, and I have not opened it up yet. Oh my, on vacation and did not have time.
Frizzy55, go to Settings>Update&Security>Recovery. Then click the Get Started button under the Reset this PC section. The Restore Factory Settings will remove all of your personal information–it’s the same process as reinstalling Windows 10. (This is from gPost.)
I’m sorry you’ve had problems with your new laptop. I’ve had great luck with HP computers but, like MrBucket below, I wouldn’t buy Windows 10 right now–at least not until their first service pack is issued. And the "lifetime service support" is a third-party company, not HP tech support. There several threads concerning this company and its claims in other threads on this forum.
Personally I would not get/use Windows 10. Not now at least until they iron out all the issues associated with it. If you may recall, Microsoft released Windows 10 a few years ago with major problems and pulled it off the web. Now they are re-issuing it as an attempt to reclaim their market share in the business and to replace the all hated Windows 8.0 and 8.1.
We all know that enhancements, much like HSN’s, will have issues until they do maintenance, updates to fix these problems, and we know how long that takes.
Please do your own research on this.
News I have heard from my sources tell me that this MAY be the last Windows version released. Although updates and support for Windows 8.0, 8.1 and 10 will continue.
, I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve been having trouble getting ahold of the tech support line for your new laptop. To reach them directly for assistance, you can call (800) 311-5603 or email them at email@example.com.
