HP 15.6 recent laptop w/Elite Lifetime Support – JOKE’s on US the customer!
When an HP representative tells a customer that when they buy the 15.6 4GB 1TB laptop on special over Thanksgiving Holiday specials and you’ll receive a special phone number for HSN customers, blah blah blah and receive "elite" customer service. Do you NOT think that was DECEPTIVE 100% as HSN & HP hired a company called ELITE IT (Information Technology) SERVICE to provide this service? I felt we were receiving a QUALITY at a level of "elite" and it was SPECIAL! That was WRONG HSN – dead wrong and 100% deceptive. Shame on you! I and I’m sure MANY others were led to believe that the word "elite" was being used in a different manner – one of a complimentary nature and not the name of the 3rd party company that HSN has farmed out HP IT Customer Service out to – which according to my "Google" search ~ Elite is the LOWEST priced IT service available when compared to other companies that could be contracted; so we will receive bargain rate service. You can’t be the lowest price by hiring the best qualified and high priced IT personnel now can you? They are also a fairly new company (having taken over another company) so longevity when the "special" included LIFETIME "elite" Customer Support with voucher – how long will that last and WHO will support us when they dissolve? I feel that writing Elite Customer Service with voucher is DECEPTIVE 100% HSN – and HSN should be embarassed by this action. My laptop is being sent back to HSN as I will NOT settle for 2nd and 3rd rate "lifetime" "elite" customer service from this fly by night company. I’m sure MANY customers will agree that we were all led to believe that we were receiving HIGH QUALITY Lifetime Support from HP (not a 3rd party) – granted you stated they were in the US but you failed to tell us that they are in their own homes, basements, illegal immigrants work there, bottom of the barrel IT graduates, etc – this is "Elite"? For those of you who are waiting to give this GIFT to someone on 12/25 – be aware – you are not handing them a laptop that they will be covered for their LIFETIME with "elite" information technology support when a problem arises – but instead will be receiving technician help from a company called "Elite" – a little play on words HP & HSN did to us customers – your gift recipient will NOT be talking with a dedicated HP personnel when they have problems – but some low rate 2 yr degree (hopefully legal citizen) IF we can get through the "dedicated" phone line for HSN customers – because NOW I question how HSN is using the word "Dedicated" also……. Playing on words is NOT good business HSN and really has sunk my opinion of HSN even further. I had NOT shopped for one thing outside the home this Holiday; but that will change right now as I do NOT trust HSN at this point while they are busy doing this heavy push for Christmas. By the way – play a game and count how many times the "reason for the season" is mentioned or celebrated on HSN? They do not have the AUTHENTIC Christmas spirit at all – but they are 100% retail and numbers bound. QVC takes time almost EVERY hour and talks about the TRUE meaning of why they are cranking so many products out of TN, VA, CA, TX (warehouses) – how about putting some Christmas into your December show?
HP hard drives go too. Mine went about 4 days after my warranty went out. Plus these are old programs. No one seems to like windows 8 they are skipping 9 and going straight to 10.1 in and around April May for all computers not just HP. Most computers are junk today. Wish we had something made in USA. Are there any? I am a great grandmother so do not know a lot about it. But I do know you get a lot of fast talking car salesman type deals and most of what they say is not really what happens, or you get, or quality. Quality seems to be a thing of the past.
Thanks for telling us about this, TRose. I agree, if that’s what HP & HSN are doing then that is very deceptive. I’m really surprised that HP & HSN would stoop so low.
The words that come to mind are "Let the Buyer Beware" When trust is lost, due to deceptive practices, a company will lose sales and lose customers. A good reputation cannot be bought or sold, it must be earned.
TROSE–Good post. I am greatful that some pay attention to these things. If it were not for your research into the Elite area of HP/HSN I would have never give it a second thought. I am a great HSN canidate.
I also now see THE LACK OF REASON FOR THE SEASON and mention of HOLIDAY . I really think due to the economy and yes GREED many have lost the REASON FOR THE SEASON-
I just buy anymore and make my own REASON FOR THE SEASON–Was in a dept store and it was all loaded up with holiday decor and gifts galore yet upon checkout I just saw blank ,grouchy faces standing in line, brows furrowed and seemed to be schrooges checking us out.
My Mother always took pride in our dinner from cooking it to our setting down and eating it w/out distraction of any kind. Yet now everything is so fast ,and the faster it gets the quality suffers.
I just relax and enjoy. let all the others run wild as they wish as they usualy look wild anyway. oh and act it as well.
AS FOR YOUR HSN PURCHASE DO RETURN IT AND MAKE SURE THIS POST YOU ALLOWED IS SHARED WITH ALL INVOLVED-You will then feel better.
LOVE AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS- MERRY CHRISTMAS AND MAY GOD BLESS !!!!!
