ELITE SUPPORT – NO LONGER 24/7?!!
Is anyone who purchased computers that were bundled with the ‘Elite Liftetime Support’ that was sold as a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week item aware that THIS IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT?
I just spoke to an Elite representative ‘Roseanne’ who advised me that their hours are NOW ONLY 12p,-8pm EST!!
I advised HSN that the laptop/support was sold as a bundle, and that this change in Elite’s service hours cannot be changed after the fact. I got the usual response that this ‘will be discussed with management’. Well, I’ll be ‘discussing’ this via online complaints with the Florida Attorney General’s Office, the Florida BBB, etc.
What HSN has done is literally broken the law. They sold us a laptop with a bundled software package containing that 24 hour a day 7 days a week technical support. By law, you cannot change the terms of a sale / contract once it’s been signed and delivered. I have already put in complaints with the Florida Attorney General’s office, the Florida Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission.
please try to spread the word in some manner to all others who have bought that package with the Elite service. From what I can gather they have sold around 30,000 units. This easily could become a class action lawsuit.
I do hope those hours are not so….there’s already a wait time for them to answer as a 24 hour support…can you imagine the wait time now, when so many people try getting thru to them only
in an 8 hour time period. Oh, woe is us.
And like I said, I just never, ever considered that my records would be sold…horrible if it includes any details (name, address, email, etc.) that health insurance companies or employers could use to find you and collect/compare info on you.
I suppose it makes "sense" in that the companies would make their money from advertising or collecting you personal information.
