Do you own TS Value – Fire TV Stick?
I have heard there are devices that allow you to watch just about anything on TV including all cable channels with only having basic cable. Is TS Value the device I have heard so much about? My specific questions are:
Do you get all premium cable channels with just having basic cable using this stick?
Are there any additional costs involved with watching movies, TV shows, etc.?
Can you watch all Premium Cable movie channel movies anytime – not just when they are actually being aired?
TS Value comes with 2 sticks – can you watch different movies on different TV’s in the same house?
Can you use the stick on a laptop?
When they had the item on air they said it comes with a package of software – I think it’s things like exercise and game packages but they are only trials. What does that mean in regards to paying for particular Apps you might want and how much money do these Apps cost?
If you have own this stick or own some other device – what are the differences?
Do you think TS Value is a good deal or should I be looking for a completely different device to get what I’m hearing other people are saying and only paying for basic cable? (If it makes any difference, I have Comcast)
I thank you in advance for any help you can give me as to whether TS Value is the product I’ve heard about before I purchase it.
Our internet is always getting kicked off and we have extremely fast internet. We just bought a new modem and router to fix the problem. The new router has 8 channels which should help when the neighbors clog up the internet channels and should allow us to stay online.
Our cable company also said our combined modem/router might be stuck on a channel and that we should reset it to unlock it. We decided since its four years old to just replace with a stand alone modem and router with a much faster speed ability.
So, I would recommend you check your router speed if you haven’t already and see if you could get a better one if needed. The modem and router have to be compatible with your internet provider.
I can’t get cable for my tv where I live and my internet connection keeps bumping us offline throughout the day. I’d love to have something like this but due to my bad internet service I don’t think I’d be happy I also don’t think my hubby and I could figure out how to connect anything from the computer over to our tv. we get Netflix discs sent to our home
Because I’ve been so busy today cooking for company over the weekend I just didn’t have the time to research this on Amazon. So I’ve decided to let that cute little remote go for now. I still think it is awesome to be able to just talk into it instead of the 5 lb. controller I have now with things I don’t have a clue how to use! lol
So for now the Fire Stick is on my bucket list and hopefully it will be a TS again real soon.
Thank you all for taking the time to answer my questions. HSN customers (and mods) are the best.
I was just discussing this with my husband as we already own Sling Box (similar to Roku) which allows us to watch any channels I have on my home TV anywhere. We have it downloaded on our computers and can watch “our home TV channels” anywhere we go that has Internet. There are no additional costs involved for using it – just the original purchase of the Sling Box device which is hooked up to our cable box. The drawback of Sling Box is when you are out – you can only watch one channel so multiple people can’t watch different things. You can only watch whatever cable channels you are paying for through your Internet Co.
I will be looking into your answer dynac and see what the actual costs are through Amazon. I am already a Prime member so maybe the bundle cost in itself will cut the cost I am currently paying for Comcast.
I thank you Candace for you speedy reply The Fire Stick really caught my attention because it is very cool to just be able to TALK to it and not have a remote with a hundred buttons on it like I have now that I don’t have a clue what half of them are. That’s hubbies job lol.
I am still posing some question to all of our HSN techies…
Do you know what it is I am looking for that allows you to watch just about anything while only paying for Internet?
If I were to get the Fire Stick just for the benefits over my cable remote does it have the ability to talk to it to set up recordings like I can with my traditional cable remote? (This is based on keeping my cable and just using the Fire Stick as a remote)
With the Fire Stick can you browse through the channels and look up info like you can with a traditional cable remote?
Again I thank you all in advance for any help.
I think HSN should do a second TS due to the lack of info for tech challenge Members like myself . I need more info to make a inform purchase . Seems like a bargain based on my research if you can use the extra items .Can we we have a Q/A in the community by one of the managers or tech expert ?
I would love to lower my cable bill . TIA :womanwink:
I have two and feel like they are a really good value..I purchased mine from amazon some time ago.I do pay for Prime so there is a lot to watch for free but as someone stated any of the subscription services have to be purchased in addition. We are not big TV watchers and it serves our needs well.I do have a NetFlix subscription which is streamed through the stick. With all the apps you can add stuff easily.
amazon does offer an antenna bundle and a gaming addition bundle..I do not have either but just reading regarding the antenna bundle it seems as if you could not be far from the TV stations and it work properly. It makes it easy to sign up or cancel for HBO NOW and Showtime, etc.
You do Not need the stick to stream movies on your laptop. If you pay for Prime you already have access to that content because its included when you purchase Prime. You do have to have paid for Prime to see amazon prime movies using this stick or you would have to rent or buy amazon movies to stream.Just having the stick does not get you the content without the Prime subscription. You can still use it to stream such as Netfix,YouTube, etc without having paid Prime.
Wondering if you have to be a Prime member to enjoy the fire stick. If so, I will probably look at the Roku as well since it would cost $99 to become a Prime with Amazon. Also, can you listen to your local channels or would you need to stay with your Cable service which would defeat the purpose.
I do not own this item however it is something I would like to have. The local cable co. wants 4.00 per mo for the upgrade / box, install and remote.
Listening, because I am interested in the same questions, lol. Thanks for posting!
