Does Hsn ever have a laptop special without all the added software? Most of that is not useful, or needed. This is coming from experience as we bought a HP last year. It raises the suggested retail price and makes you think you’re getting a great deal, which in most cases you’re not.
Dell inspiron 15 is a piece of junk. I called Tech support so many times for problems they flagged my computer and would not let Tech’s help me. Yes the first thing they do is try to sell you their virus package.
I had to start calling India call centers and they refuse to let me talk with some one whom speaks clear english.
I have had to send it off three times for repairs. HSN will not do any thing about it. The Dell 1 year warranity is only good for 1 month. (same as hsn) They will only fix it untill the 1 year warranity is up.

It’s almost impossible to purchase a computer without bloatware unless you buy directly from the manufacturer. Manufacturers are paid by the software companies to put their programs on the computers in hopes you’ll buy the programs.
First thing I do is uninstall all the bloatware. It’s a pain and takes some time, but it makes a big difference. There are programs you can download that will do this automatically for you, but why add a new program to take programs off?
The one program I do install is Revo Uninstaller–the free version. I use it to uninstall programs I don’t want. Just because the bloatware is on the computer doesn’t mean it has to stay there.
I don’t know where you’re comparing, but that is not the case. This is a i5 4200u Dell. You’re probably not looking at the same specs. A i5 4200u is a 4th generation low end Dell. This could be had for $400 without the unnecessary bloatware software. The software added slows down your computer, most of it is not needed. The lifetime tech support isn’t necessary. I have never used any tech support over the years.
have been checking prices and even with the software, it is still the BEST buy. The free tech support is great.
