VT Sales Tax being charged, yet according to HSN customer service VT not HSN list for sales tax
I need answers – I have ordered many items from HSN and now all of a sudden I am being charged sales tax – this items are to me in VT or another individual in VT – yet all of the sudden sales tax is being charged.
I have a few auto ships that now have a few dollars more taxed onto them for sales tax.
Initially when I alerted HSN customer service said that VT is not listed as having HSN collecting sales tax and I could get refunded if I call customer service.
Why can’t the computer system be corrected to remedy this situation.
I should not have to keep calling customer service to remedy this situation –
If something has changed and VT sales tax is now being charged is one thing – but this was within a few hours of one purchase and suddently sales tax starts showing up in my cost.
This is a lousy way to do business having to have the consumer keep pointing out a glitch in the system..
How many states that do not charge sales tax are being charged sales tax and folks don’t notice it – what happens to those extra charges??
There’s several articles about Vermont’s internet sales tax. From one of them:
"Vermont’s click-through nexus law takes effect today, December 1, 2015. As a result, many Internet sellers are now required to collect and remit Vermont sales tax for the first time."
Thank you,. Candace
