Visa Checkout Isn’t Working – CSRs No Help
Hi. I have been trying several times to make a purchase using Visa Checkout for the past couple days but it keeps failing at the last step, displaying the message "Oops! There was an issue with Visa Checkout. Please contact customer service at 1-800-685-9292 ". That is a HSN customer service number apparently which I mention calling below.
This happens after I have already put an item in the cart, clicked the Visa Checkout button to checkout, correctly entered my email address and password and clicked the "Sign In" button which the Visa Checkout box accepted, then it shows the card, shows the right cardholder name and address, but then when I click the orange "Continue" button I get a swirling circle graphic then the above message and the order does not go through.
I know my Visa Checkout account has been working as I put a few small items on it at a different merchant a few days ago. I’ve tried while logged on with my HSN account, as well as not logged on. I’ve tried a differnt browser, tried clearing my browser cache and cookies, tried on a different computer, neither of which have ANY problems making several purchases this holiday season at different merchants – and no I am not over my credit card limit, not even close.
I called the above HSN phone number twice and talked to two different CSR, neither of which could do anything – all they seemed to do was try the exact same thing I did by clicking website buttons.
SURELY there is some way that customer service can put an order through manually? It makes no sense to me that they weren’t able to do that unless there is just no way to interface the Visa Checkout? I am 110% sure I’m not doing something wrong and the items I tried are in stock.
What the heck? I typed up an informative reply but apparently the system auto-logged me out and all was lost? That stinks!
Anyway, I went at this a dozen different ways and all info did match, and I did go to Visa Checkout’s website and confirm this. I did already sign in and out of my HSN account many times. I basically did every possible combination of things and it didn’t work.
I called a different CS # 1-800-284-3900 a few minutes ago, got transferred 2 times but finally got a CSR that had the ability to manually put the order through using my credit card directly instead of Visa Checkout, then give me the $25 Visa Checkout promo discount.
The problem was not on my end. The CSR reviewed the details and couldn’t get it to go through on her end either. Something in Visa Checkout land is broken. I emailed Visa Checkout with a compete description and screenshots as well as all info they requested, but for now they only escalated the issue and will look into it and get back within 48 business hours… which is by Jan 8th if their business hours are 8/day M-F except holidays. :catfrustrated:
Visa Checkout you have a lot of catching up to do if you want to compete with Paypal!
I’m sorry this is giving you some trouble. Usually this error is caused when the information in our system does not match what you have saved on Visa Checkout. Please take a moment to check all of that and make sure the address and phone numbers match. Then, sign into your HSN account first and try the order again.
