
USPS service for rural customers horrendous, I want the option to pay for UPS
HSN must be trying to chase off all of it’s rural customers.
My recent orders have been shipped via UPS cheaper USPS “surepost” instead of UPS ground. The only thing “sure” in surepost is horrible delivery service. Besides the EXTRA WEEK it takes for USPS to deliver even the smallest of packages, they have arrived smashed flat or left out on busy street (not in front of our property) and I have no idea that it’s been left out there. I have to drive to the street to go find my package.
This is totally unacceptable. With every smashed, undelivered package, HSN’s customer service is going to be the one dealing with angry customers.
I don’t pay a fortune for name brand items just to have them smashed in process of being transferred from one USPS facility to another. Items purchased from HSN go through a minimum of 5 long distance (more than 100 miles) transfers & storage facilities before reaching our local post office.
Customers should be given right to pay for UPS higher quality, expedited or ground delivery service.
Nearly all online retailers, large and small, offer this service. Why can’t HSN?

That works for some items but not if HSN decides to mail it. Then there’s nothing you can do. I am a my choice customer.

Your very welcome! My choice platinum has saved me so many trips to town, waiting in line at the P.O. and time for not having to file mail theft claims that it has more than paid for itself. Another nice feature is you can forward to another address if your not going to be home or have UPS hold the package, you can also select twice a year where they give you a guaranteed 2 hour delivery window! I have them automatically upgrade all surepost to regular UPS delivery so I get ALL my packages to the door (HSN and others). Many other features you’ll have to read about on their site.

I am in the same boat, very rural and even worse my mailbox is 2 miles away from my house! Usually a slip I have to take to town during post office hours and wait in line… Its terrible, especially now that we pay for shipping on most items… I have a solution to suggest, join UPS my choice premium on ups.com. right now its 19.99 a year (normally 40) and it comes with unlimited upgrade of smartpost shipping to regular UPS delivery. You can set it to upgrade all smartpost, or none or on a one by one basis… There are a slew of other features as well… You can upgrade smartpost with their regular free my choice acct. but the fee is 7.99 each shipment so after 2 you pay for more than the while year so I recommend the premium acct.
