Timing of Charges
I was under the understanding that HSN wouldn’t charge my credit card until my item shipped. (At least that used to be the policy.) Yesterday, 6/1, I placed an order anticipating that it couldn’t possibly be charged before 6/2 since my order wasn’t even official until midnight. My credit card statement drops on 6/1 so the charge shouldn’t have hit this statement.
However, when I checked my account this morning, the item had already been charged on 6/1 and is on my current statement which will be due before the end of June. The item is currently in “processing.”
Has HSN changed its policy or is there something I’m not understanding? I would probably have held off ordering yesterday if I’d known it was going to show up so soon.
@lizzie818 I’m sorry for the concern with this charge. When an order is placed, we authorize for the funds right away. We won’t actually take the funds until the item ships, but the authorization may hang around for a while depending on your bank. Each bank has a different time frame for dropping authorizations, so you’ll want to check with them for specifics.
I looked into this for you and since this is already on 6 flexpays, there will not be an extra flex offer on this tomorrow.
