So upset with HSN Credit Card Company – Comenity Bank
I love shopping with HSN and have for years but save yourself the headache of getting their HSN Credit Card – Comenity Bank. I had some things on flex pay and a couple of times I tried to pay the balance in full, did so, and another $100 would pop up the next billing cycle for no reason. I owed a total of $35 to finish my flex pays and by the then credit card company was charging me $142.00. They acted like they didn’t know anything about the flex pays and said I had to call HSN which were professional and they confirmed my flex pay balance, but said they don’t know anything but the credit card. I was forced to pay the $142 plus service fees for a total of $159 today and I had a flex pay total balance of $35.00 That just isn’t right. I told them to close the credit card and as far as I’m concerned I was out of $159.00 that I did not owe them. But what can you do? HSN says they know nothing about the credit card company and the credit card company says they know nothing about the Flex Pay balance. I was stuck. Worst mistake I ever made was getting the HSN Credit Card. I told them they have committed fraud against me. They stole $159.00 from me.

Update – even though I paid the balance with my debit card, and that cleared my bank on my online banking, HSN Comenity bank just emailed me to tell me my balance was still not paid and now I have zero credit limit. Like from what? I have not shopped HSN for months trying to straighten this out. They are going to have a fight from me of monumental proportions if they don’t make that a zero balance and close my account. Comenity Credit Card says they have nothing to do with HSN and have no idea about what the flex pay balances really are… and HSN says they have nothing to Comenity bank and I must have charges I don’t know about. My point is, I need to know about every single charge on a credit card statement and they are not transparent at all. If HSN is going to put their name on something they need to back it up with customer service, that is just my opinion. I only got the credit card to get an extra flex pay, omg, had I know this nightmare would ensue I never would have done that.

IMO, one should always use a credit /and or debit card affiliated with a known back, such as Chase Bank or Capitol One Bank, etc. Should you have a problem, you have a better chance of getting it solved in your favor,

Thanks KurlyQ. I don’t even have credit cards to be honest, just Home Depot. I only wanted the HSN card to get the extra flex pay. I really regret this but it is water under the bridge. If they close out the card with a zero balance then I’ll move on. I made the final payment they told me to, then told me 24 hours later they wanted another 31.00 and I made that payment too. They told me they don’t give confirmation # for payments? So I paid the $31, but for what I don’t know? If they close out my account then I’ll let it go. |I hate to see anyone else not “credit card savvy” get stuck in this kind of mess.

They are a complete PIA, I hate them. I go to pay my bill tonight and they do not recognize my sign on, its such moronic bull. I wont use this card anymore because it scares me, what kind of company wants their customers to hate them and be miserable?Taken an hour dealing with this and trying to do a million other things far more important. All for vitamins. It is particularly bad with SynCB, they do this on all accounts, one day you can pay online all registered the whole nine yards, the next time…we dont know who in the F you are.

Update – even though I paid the balance with my debit card, and that cleared my bank on my online banking, HSN Comenity bank just emailed me to tell me my balance was still not paid. HSN says they have no control over Comentiy Bank but if they are going to put their name on something they should back it up with customer service. Now I’ve paid the balance, it has cleared my bank, and Comenity Bank is asking for the balance to be paid again. That is fraud.

Why would you tell me you cannot accept my reply because the information was redundant and then post it, making me look redundant with a 3rd reply?

Comenity Bank gets terrible consumer ratings (see BBB, Yelp). I feel for you and hope it can get straightened out so you can run from this bank if any store, including HSN, uses it for its credit cards. Ugh.

Thanks MsLomo – I feel better hearing that. I felt like I was wackadoodle or something! LOL Hopefully they have all the money they want and close my account. I should know in a few days.

No, it’s not you! It’s really them! 🙂 If I were you, I’d put it all in writing and send to the bank address on the back of your credit card statement — the address you would use when disputing a bill. Send one copy first-class mail, and send another copy certified mail, return-receipt requested (both to that same address). Put all the information in the letter. I wouldn’t give them extra money and hope for the best. I wouldn’t trust them to figure it out and take care of it for you. They are not entitled to one penny more than you really owe!

Great news – Comenity Bank just sent me an online letter saying my account is closed with a zero balance. Now I can stop dealing with them. Thanks for the replies. They helped.

Whew! That’s good! 🙂

Did you ever get to talk to a person? I’m having trouble with my card. A HSN rep said it’s probably been closed from lack of use, then another said I do have an account, but when I try to call comenity the computer says there is no account. I’d like to talk (maybe yell a bit) at a person but I can’t get out of their menu. Any tips? Maybe I should just let it go. After reading what you went thru they are a nightmare.

Yesterday, July 5, 2019, I received a letter from Comenity Capital Bank. It informs me that on August 23, 2019 my HSN Card account will be acquired by Synchrony Bank. I will make sure to pay any balance due prior to August 22, 2019 because any payments made to Comenity Capital Bank after August 22, 2019 will not be processed.

I am so disappointed and upset also with HSN credit card service. What a big mistake for flex pay. I too paid my account off. I later got a bill that said I made a purchase of $39.99, $19.99, $19.99, along with late fees and finance charges. I was not goi g to pay them more money because I made no other purchases. I found out today, they forgot to add the flex pay in and because I did not pay. I owe them $204.00. Smh, I refuse to pay them double for 1 product I received. I have filed a dispute with them, but after reading here. I am going to send my own into the office on the back of my statement, along with a copy to the BBB, and the attorney general’s office. This is so wrong, financial abuse. To think they are doing this to so many more people. It has to stop.

I think ATtorney Generals Office is what they need…. a good kick in the you know what. Honestly, I just dread paying my bill because I know something will be a problem. I keep very up to date records on all my ID’s and passwords and this bank has deleted them several times so that when I go to pay they wont work, they say they dont recognize me, but they did last time. They just go in a play with personal information I guess NICE. Well HSN will be gone soon. Nothing nice ever seems to last.

I am going through the same thing with my hsn credit they are adding charges on items that are paid for. They are very rude with their customer service. I am going to never shop on HSN again because of synchrony

When I paid my card off they closed my account out and it wasn’t on my credit report that was a few years ago I tried to open another account recently and I can’t even check the status. There’s a credit card on file that I didn’t put on my account HSN credit card but I have no way to get the information SMH.

Somebody last night purchased goods with my HSN card. I have alerts set up in the account and that’s what saved me for something worse. Nobody in my house has access to my credit cards, so I wonder if it’s an inside job. Very scary, happens again I will close the account.

Comenity Bank is a scam! I had a dental card with them and they raped my so bad in interest and insane late fees that i was in a preparatory loan cycle for two years. I lost thousands.
