Returned item not scanned at USPS
I mailed two items back using the return labels in two different envelopes. One made it to HSN and the one never made it. It seems like it has never been scanned by USPS. I went to the post office and they said they couldn’t help me and basically laughed because they said the return label wasn’t their label but HSN. I’m out $99.00 dollars. Im am hesitating to buy anything else from HSN because I might have to return it.
Pretty sad answer from HSN. The return labels say we can leave at our mail box or just drop off at the post office or UPS drop off. Guess we better not just ‘leave’ or ‘drop off’. Stay with the package to be positive someone scans it in. Then get some sort of receipt that the item was scanned. So much for easy returns.
I am shopping less and less here at HSN due to stuff like this. And other problems.
If you have the tracking number from the label the post office should be able to help you locate it even if you can’t track it.Everything is photographed now too.So no excuse for them to not help you locate it.USPS can be very slow at times so it may very well still show up.
If it was a SurePost (UPS) or SmartPost (Fed-X) label you should be able to find it on UPS or Fed-X site. Those can be really slow since the post office has to transfer it to the other shipper.
Thank you for your reply. I hope this is case with my package. Once again thank you for the hope that it will be found.
I understand your worry about a high-value return. If it helps at all, I had this happen to me before where my return was not scanned by USPS. The return was eventually processed. It just took longer than the one that I did have scanned. I believe the returns went to two different facilities so it may depend on how quick that facility is. I hope this is the case for your return.
Hi @64ro64, I completely understand the concern of an item not reaching us after returning it and apologize for this delayed response. Our Easy Return labels are insured in the event something happens to the package on its way back to us. Unfortunately if the return label wasn’t scanned at the Post Office and has no tracking information, there’s not much I would be able to do to assist. I would recommend requesting to speak with a supervisor where you dropped the package off at to see if they can search their facility.
I can assure you that instances such as these are far and few in between and understand being hesitant with shopping with us.
