NO PA Sales Tax on Clothing in PA !
Well, I spent my evening trying to fight “city hall” with no success. I was trying to purchase the “Today’s Special”, a pair of winter boots. In the state of PA where I have lived for 48 years, there is no sales tax on necessities such as food, clothing, shoes, Rx, etc., even if purchased on line. Well, I was going to be be charged 6% on my boots. About $5.00. So, I did an online chat…was told that the zip code I have shows I am to pay tax. NO! So, I called C.S. and spoke with a rep that was not very nice. She also said that I was to be charged 6% sales tax and there was nothing she could do. After explaining the PA sales tax law regarding necessities and that I have never been charged for purchases online before…she prompty said, “you have ordered from us before for hair extentions and were charged a tax, aren’t they a necessity?” Really? Was I really just asked that?
Anyway, just an FYI that HSN will charge for sales tax if you live in PA for clothing, shoes, food, etc. They will not budge. QVC here I come. Sorry HSN, I tried. Hope you realize the $5.00 tax just cost you a ton of Christmas shopping.
, we only charge sales tax as required by law, and the funds collected are turned over to the tax authority.
Ha Ha yes I have some more items on the back burner. We will see how I do with my other projects.
I really want to get my Christmas theme cut out with the Cricut window cling and my scanncut. That is coming between tonight and tomorrow. Today I have to go to the store to do a few returns. So I will be around later hopefully.
But thank you everyone for stopping by. I really do appreciate your comments and all of you.:smileyhappy:
Happy Sunday have a great day.:smileyhappy:
