Need help attaching Keith Urban Guitar Strap to Keith Urban Player Guitar
So, moderator/customer service agent: The guitar I received has flaws, but it is worth keeping inspite of the flaws (pencil scratching around teh sound hole, missing 9th fret dot), because the action is good, I ordered the $30.00 leather strap that goes with the guitar. It arrived tonight and I could not get it attached (and there are no instructions that came with it). The hole in the leather for attaching the guitar strap on the neck seems too small, but I do not want to cut it any in case it is supposed to be that way in order to hold the guitar in place securely. I have not tried attaching the strap to the peg at the bottom of the guitar bottom yet, but the size of the hole at the end of the strap is the same as theone at the top so it looks like I will not be able to get it on either. Can you or anybody else tell me how they went about attaching the Keith Urban Guitar Strap to the Keith Urban Player Guitar, please? (Not how "pretty" you think the guitar and Keith Urban are.) Am I supposed to cut the leather and is so how much? Thank you!
I have had no problems with my RFM pieces. If required, I would use a polishing cloth. I store all my jewelry in Colleen Lopez’s Prestige boxes and/or use anti tarnish strips.
, I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble getting your strap attached to your new Keith Urban guitar. The get the strap attached to the guitar, you should just have to push the peg through the cutout in the strap itself. The fit should be pretty tight so it may take a little effort to get the strap onto the peg. I definitely wouldn’t advise cutting the strap as this may in turn make the strap loose against the peg.
Thanks so much for your great reply!!
I had posted in TAY that my experience with the HSN Mods was extraordinary and that you’d certainly get back to us…as always… with a clear, concise answer. I didn’t realize that wasn’t serious enough an answer for the Op, but rest assured…
WE KNEW YOU’D COME THROUGH FOR US!!!!
From the "girls"…. :womanwink:
P.S….mine also came with scratches around the sound hole, and also on about three inches from the bottom of the sound hole down, too. Just mentioned this in case more people report the same issue…
@hsn_kyle: I have tried the pencil poking trick in the leather and then tried pushing the crown of the neck-side pin through the double leather. I have finally gotten it through the 1st layer of leather, but not the second. It should not be this hard to put on a guitar strap! What can I do next to try and get this to attach to the guitar? I did not purchase a $30.00 strap to spend my time playing with it instead of the guitar. IN the reviews one other person wrote about how difficult it was to attach the strap, so I know I am not the only one with this problem. What else can I try to get the Keith Urban Guitar Strap to attach to the Keith Urban Guitar. Thank you!
I was the other person who posted in TAY saying that I initially also found the strap to be tight. Guess I’m also the ‘girl’ who posted saying I thought the guitar pretty too!!!
And I DO!! IT IS GORGEOUS…
The guitar also has a really sweet sound for a beginner guitar. I couldn’t be happier…:womanhappy:
Just to let you know how much I appreciate HSN Mods and all the help you provide to us. I followed Kyle’s instructions and my strap went on perfectly!!
HSN Customer Service Rocks!!!
It’s not that its new leather and that it needs stretched out, It’s that The holes are to small.. I took a drill and made the holes bigger and it goes on and off my guitar just fine now..
I too struggled with the guitar strap and questioned whether I was attaching it correctly. I did not understand the point of the included strings that were looped through the holes on the strap. I had to work the holes in the strap over the pegs using quite a bit of strength and the leather or vinyl, not sure what it is made of, crinkled and creased a bit. I was using so much force and manipulating it so much I thought for sure I was going to rip the holes, but finally was able to stretch it over the pegs by working one side of the peg at a time through the hole in the strap.
