My Instacharge (510-948 item #) is defective. One of the charging slots on the base will not charge. All 4 chargers will charge if you use the other 3 slots. I looked at reviews & others have had same problem. There is a paper with the item that says not to return it where you bought it but to contact the manufacturer first. I emailed them right after Christmas. I have had no response. Last time I checked you were out of stock on the silver that I ordered so I probably can’t exchange it for a unit that isn’t defective. I also read reviews where the company wants you to pay to return the unit to them & hope they will replace it with a refurbished unit. Not even sure if there is a cost for the replacement as they haven’t contacted me.
I’m not sure what to do. I like the unit- maybe only having 3 slots work won’t be too bad. I certainly don’t want to pay to return it & get a unit that is refurbished. It could be worse than the one I have. I guess it just bothers me to pay full price for something that is defective. If I return it to HSN for replacement will you get the silver back in stock anytime soon?
, I’m sorry this happened to the Instacharge and I’ll check with our Buyers for future availability. At this time, the item is covered by the HSN 30 day return and we would process a full refund and waive the return s&h, if the item remains out of stock. The manufacturer’s warranty requires the buyer to pay s&h and replacement is at the manufacturer’s determination. Another option is to keep the item as-is for a partial refund.
