Information needed regarding price adjustment/mark down period on an item.
If someone could clarify this, I would appreciate it.
I was always under the impression (due to receiving price adjustments for items over many years) that you received the adjustment IF the price is reduced within 30 days of purchase (permanent price reduction). Sometimes I wouldn’t notice the discount for weeks after the reduction (we’re talking 2 months plus), would call and CS would check and see when I bought the item and when the item was reduced; if it was within the 30 days of purchase I would be given the adjustment.
Today I called regarding 2 items that have been reduced by $40; a savings of $80 as I bought 2 of them. My alerts have not been working for months so I have no idea when this happened. I discovered it while looking at items by the same vendor. CS told me that you can ONLY receive the adjustment if you call within 30 days of purchase and not 1 day later. HUGE difference. I asked about the Christmas return policy (which is not 30 days) and she said it didn’t matter; if you don’t CALL within the 30 days, you don’t get the adjustment. So, if on the 29th day it’s reduced and you call 48 hours later, not adjustment for you.
I was also told that there is no way for CS to know when an item was marked down so, no she couldn’t do it. Really? Since when?
When did THIS POLICY go into effect? I’m ticked. I really am. HSN messed up my alerts. HSN claims that the Xmas policy doesn’t count (did in the past) and the tags are STILL on these items. Yeah, not impressed.
Could someone give me the most up to date info on this? Thank you.
