Help with Package Delivery!
Could someone please explain why a package from UPS was delivered to the Post Office instead of directly to me? There was 3 other separate packages delivered from UPS today to me so I checked on the other and it was delivered to the Post Office from the UPS today. Why???
I also hate this shipping items ups and then transfer to post office. This changes the delivery time that you promise!!!
@poochers59 That’s a UPS decision. HSN ships some stuff via UPS ground and some via UPS Surepost. Usually if UPS is going to have a truck in my area the day the Surepost package arrives in my city, they will deliver it on the UPS truck. It could be an issue of timing as to when the package arrived versus when the truck was loaded. That’s why I usually track my packages directly from the UPS website instead of through HSN’s site.
UPS has something called SurePost where, for reasons that I don’t know or understand, once they reach their destination city, some packages are transferred from UPS to the Post Office for delivery. I have it happen all the time and I hate it. A package can get to the UPS facility here on Monday, get transferred to the PO and not get delivered until Saturday or the following Monday. I have had packages arrive at UPS here with one delivered by UPS the next day but the one that was transferred to the PO not delivered until 4 or 5 days later. It’s ridiculous.
@credd51 UPS Surepost is a way to save money on shipping costs. The rationale is that unless you live in a business district, UPS may not have a truck in your area everyday. On the other hand USPS always goes to every house every delivery day. I’m sorry your USPS service is less than exemplary. My Sure post is always delivered either the same day or the next day after the Post Office receives it (Sundays/holidays excepted).
@poochers59, that is strange! I see that your packages aren’t expected to arrive until 7/03. It could very well be a routing issue. I would give it sometime to correct itself. If you haven’t received it by 7/03, please reach out to us to assist you with further options.
